What if I don't blame him for the free throws, but I blame him for the poor offensive scheme we had all season which resulted in 0 field goals made in the last 10 minutes?

Most frustrating thing all season to me was the lack of an offense. We don't set up players up with an advantage on offense. We look like we are running a zone offense against man defense for the most part.

How about some block to block screens to try and get our big guys open? How about some stagger screens for our shooters to run off of in order to get an open look? How about some dribble handoffs and pick and rolls not 30' away from the goal, so we can get something off of it?

It would be really interesting to see a chalk talk with Jones explaining his offensive strategy.

That's a legit point. That being said, we did have some point blank looks in that 10 minutes that we completely boned. But I'd agree with your sentiment over the 'coaching leads to missed ft's' crowd 100 times out of 100.

Well if youre playing a 7 man team and your players get tired they start hitting the front rim of the basket and misses happen.

I'm sure at some point in their careers the had a coach that taught them you needed to make baskets to win a game.

They should blame it on THAT coach.

Exactly, all LSU coaches aren't responsible for the team's performance. I mean, how can a grown man be responsible to do his job?

Sitting on timeouts and piss poor game management rests on the shoulders of the coaching staff, sorry. Did you not notice this pattern all year?

No brain offensive scheme lies on the coaches. Passing the ball for 26 seconds at half court just does not work. Then you bench the whole second half the only player (Grey) who can drive at the last minute for a hail Mary chunk at the basket. At least by doing this, you have 4 other players to crash the boards for second and third shots. The loss is on the coaches. Oh Yes, lets not forget Dale Brown was in the house.

Good thing the coach had the skill necessary to prepare the team for that high pressure environment

Everyone knows what a dumb worthless POS you are when it comes to posting about football, but wow, now you're expanding into basketball? Impressive.

The biggest complaint I had was the refusal to put a player like Bridgewater in for Mickey when he started to turn to "Brick"ey. There needed to be someone off the bench to provide a spark [other than Gray] and that certainly wasn't going to come from Malone.
.
The team flat out got tired. When exhausted, its even tough to make free throws. We all saw that last night. They were flat footed, got pushed around in the paint, were too tired to guard and, well - we know the outcome . . .
.
Add 4 more SEC-Level Starters to this squad next year and the outcome is different every time. Bring back both Martin and Mickey to that group and this will be a lot of fun to watch.

Yes, yes I did. We lost a game and it could have been better coached.

NC State wasn't intentionally fouling,

I never said they did, although they fouled Mickey on purpose once he got in the paint.

The loss clearly falls on the players but that doesn't mean JJ coached a perfect game. He isn't to blame for the misses. He however does need to get better at all in game coaching. He was fired up in the first half and we played great. The second half he went back to stoner turtle Jones. Jones really needs to get with the great coaches and learn how to work a ref during the game.

Barkley was wrong. This was not a top 10 talent team.

Part of talent in basketball is to actually get the ball into the hoop. Neither Mickey nor Martin nor anyone else on this team has the necessary prowess to create their own offense. The two big guys are not even close to Johnny O'Bryant in that area. Patterson is a good outside shooter, obviously, but that's about it; Gray is too small to be consistently effective; Hornsby's mechanics mean that he will never be a great shooter. Quarterman seems to have head issues at times... no other reason to explain why he's not dominating smaller players.

It's painfully obvious from the product that he doesn't stress the little things in practice (or if he does, he doesn't hold players accountable).

Antonio Blakeney when interviewed on 104.5 said when asked what he liked about LSU, said he likes the "freedom" that Jones gives the players in the game.

That doesn't scream well coached or disciplined to me. Why would a coach let players do whatever the hell they want? There should be some direction from the sideline.
