This is the template for moronic LSU fans. This is nothing new. The collapse was abysmal, but the fans are far more embarrassing than any missed free throws right now.

No most of us have seen how a solid coach and coach to win in spite of his team in this situation- I can name 5 coaches who win this game without even thinking

That being said - missing that many free throws they did not deserve to win--It is evident JJ does not emphasize free throws in practice-

You are a moron if you don't think it was coaching or lack of coaching. Game should never have been close. After missing 4 free throws, maybe you call a timeout, let the players rest, then go try some more. Gray should have played a lot more in 2nd half too. He is an asset against teams like they played tonight.

Yep on the players, we missed some good looks, and free throws down the stretch. The refs missed some calls like that over the back at the end, but if you execute and make your free throws you take the game out the refs hands. People calling for Jones' head are idiots. Every year he has improved and he inherited an awful team from Trent. He's recruiting excellent and bringing excitement back to LSU basketball. No, he's not the best coach in basketball by any stretch, but he's much better then what we had. LSU fans are the worst, they expect us to have the best coaches in every sport and the best team every year. That's just not possible. We had no depth and I guess fatigue and nerves got to the players down the stretch. No excuses though, should of won.

This was an awful way to end an exciting season, but with the recruits coming in and us making the tournament this year, the excitement is coming back for LSU basketball.

While your players are so gassed their FTs aren't even making it to the rim....

If you think free throw shooting isn't a part of practice for any college team, you're just an idiot. Geez.

You can blame the coach because this crap has been going on all year. The talent on this team is there. I see no kind of game plan.

I like Johnny jones as a recruiter, But he is no head coach. This will be the identity of LSU basketball as long as he is here.

If a team just stops making shots at the end of one game, and loses, it is an outlier. This team has had a history of it.

They scored 2 points in OT against Mizzou.
They went over 12 minutes without a FG against Auburn in the SECT.
Scored 2 points in the final 4 minutes at home against aTm.
Scored 2 points in the final 6 minutes against Kentucky.

This team runs out of gas at the end of games. It's the coach's job to stop that from happening.

I agree, and I hope he comes back, but he should not have touched the ball on that last series. That is on the coach.

What's he supposed to do? Create bench players out of thin air? LSU has some talent, but they are thin. There's no depth. It's part of building a program, and it's hard to do. JJ is doing it, but it's not there yet.

I don't care if the players are tired. It's the Tourney. You gut it out and sink clutch shots. You don't blame the coach. You make your free throws.

I've known that since third grade. Free throws are where games are won and lost. These guys have been shooting thousands of free throws their whole lives. They've been standing at the line fantasizing about this moment when they could hit the game winning free throws. Too bad it was only a fantasy. They couldn't deliver. That ain't on the coach.

So you are satisfied with X's and O's of this coaching staff, because I'm not. It is like he is just one the boys.

This thread needs to be bookmarked and brought back after the next football loss.

Basketball team doesn't execute down the stretch, it's on the players.

Football team doesn't execute late in the game, it's all on the coaches.

So our lack of offensive direction in the last 10:30 wasn't coaching?

Pocketing 3 timeouts doesn't fall on the coaches?

Key players disappearing at the end of games is all on the players right?

Lack of in game adjustments falls on the players as well right?

I'd give this a pass had this only happened tonight, but this has been our theme all year.

A poor free throw shooting team is most definitely a reflection on coaching. Not to mention it can partially be attributed to the fact that our team was completely worn out because we pretty much only played 6 guys the entire season. Say what you want about players not being ready to be on the floor, well again that just goes to show that JJ couldn't develop any of those guys (Bridgewater, Darcy, Robinson, Epps, and Odo) well enough to be able to compete. Yes this loss undoubtedly came down to coaching.

Lack of offensive direction. They were going down low and getting easy looks or getting fouled. It worked very well. We just missed layups and FTs at the end of it.

Not sure what adjustments they'd make. They were missing open looks.
