No way. That was my fear if we did let him go. We would be starting over. Perhaps Jimbo pulls a top 10 class but I doubt it.

RED HERRING!!! If we fired Miles and hired a coach who would fix our offense, keep Coach O ,and get a great DC we would win the National Title next year. I'd rather lose the #1 recruiting class and win the National title next year and maybe more in the future

I'd rather have a top 15 class this year and hire a better/ killer coach who wins the NC. Once we win a title the recruiting will come.

the arse-backwards "logic" on this board is just shocking... keep an underachieving coach because he's a good recruiter.

With that "logic" you can NEVER fire Miles.

Using your logic if LSU loses 5-6 games next season, but have the number #1 recruiting class we shouldn't fire LES!! WOW RETARD!!

Tassin? How will Aranda and our defensive recruits help the passing game NEXT SEASON? Sure we might get more turnovers, but it will not make our receivers, qb, any better.

well, top QB Jacob Eason committed to UGA when Richt was there, and kept his commitment after Richt was fired, with a completely new coaching staff coming in (and unproven HC Kirby Smart).

So relax, we would've been fine.

why is anyone downvoting my post? It's simply a fact that Eason kept his commitment to Georgia even though they fired their longtime coach and brought in a new HC with no head coaching experience.

So my point is that many/most recruits will still come to a school, even with a new coaching staff. I firmly believe many/most recruits are more attached to the school than the coach. Why do most schools get most of their recruits from in-state? It's because these kids grow up wanted to play for the big state school, assuming the program isn't a complete train wreck.

Odds are the offense would improve with him gone too. I would've taken that chance.

Right and since I don't have season tickets to the "recruiting battles" but do to the games finishing #1 is less exciting if we remain completely stagnant on offense.

Louisiana has 21 players rated four or five stars in 247Sports’ composite rankings. No other state produced more highly rated recruits (four or five stars) compared to state population.

There are 4.49 highly rated prospects for every 500,000 males in Louisiana this year.

The number is double the amount of Florida, where there are 2.26 four- and five-star players for every 500,000 males. Texas, known nationally as the jewel of high school football talent, averages just 1.89.

SMH. There isn't a trophy for recruiting classes !!!!! Great coaches know they can develope players. Miles needs to worry more about getting out of the West cellar.

I don't know why not. TD claims that LSU recruits itself, and any coach who would have replaced Miles would get the same recruits as he does, and coached them up to levels they could only reach with said unknown head coach.

It puts even more of a demand to produce now. Miles probably doesn't care about the pressure. With or without him we have a very, very, very strong foundation to build a perinnial contender for years to come.

This year is shaping up to be special. Miles has a huge hand in that. Even I'll cop to that.
