What the hell are you talking about?

I’ve lost a fair amount of confidence and faith that Kelly’s coaching can get us where we want to go, yet I’m still holding out a little hope that an infusion of talent can get us there.
I think great talent can do wonders for mediocre coaching. I know we had a good OC in 2019, but there’s no denying we had perhaps the most elite talent we’ve had at key positions that we’ve ever had here.
The talent is what won it for us then. Sure we had good play callers, but the crucial thing we had was top-notch athletes to execute those calls.
I don’t think we have the playmakers this year. I don’t know if we will reevaluate our OC situation next year, but I am happy we’re (so far at least) reinvigorating our team with the players we need.
I honestly believe it starts with the players on the field. I’m not happy with Kelly and a number of things that have happened this year, but hey, even miles and orgeron won titles, and we’ve seen what they’ve done post-LSU.

quote:You mean he did NOT recruit all of our current players. For example, he didn't recruit Nussmeier.
He recruited all of our current players
In addition, he was named the LSU head coach on November 30, 2021. ESD that year was December 15, 2021. The lack of depth of talent in the 2022 class is NOT on Kelly.
His first real recruiting class was the 2023 class. He also brought in the 2024 class.
So he's responsible for the first year (True Freshmen) players, the second year (Sophomores and RS Freshmen) players, and the portal players.
