LSU in 2004 lost 3 games, to all teams that were ranked high. All 3 finished in the Top 10 of in the nation.

04 and 09 were pretty similar years...you can't really bash one and take up for the other.

11 other teams.

Who can't go 9-4 with 4 auto wins OOC like LSU had the last 2 years, or I should say so called auto wins since we struggled to beat 2 of those teams as well.

they played 1 less game in 2004. add Tulane or ULL to the 2004 schedule and we win 10 that year.

That schedule was also much stronger than what LSU has had this season.
3 OOC Games, 2 very winnable games, Arkansas State and Troy and then Oregon State which would be equal to North Carolina next year.

ok so if 9 win is so great(wich is what saten had his last year)isnt that what miles had this year

So you are going to punish Saban's team in 2004 for only having an 11-game regular season and NOT getting the gimme win of ULL, Tulane, or Latech? Really?

In 2004, we had one rent-a-win, and in 2009 we had 3.

Good thing he's not in the SEC then and I don't think anyone is claiming they want him as LSU's coach now anyway. If the only defense you of Les Miles is Mack Brown couldn't win 10 every year in the SEC then that should tell you something.

they were similar, LSU lost 3 games in 04 to 3 teams in Top 10. LSU lost 4 games in 09, 3 Top 10 teams.

The 04 team was more balanced than the 09 team and played more disciplined football.

Funny how people are having to completely contort things to make a point that Miles has to go. All of a sudden the Big 12 is a really deep conference, and USC really contended for National Titles every year since 2003. That would have been blasphemy at any other time.

I can simplify it for you guys.
1) No team is in the title mix every year.
2) Good programs don't stay down for long.

BTW- OU has lost 17 games since 2005. LSU has lost 15. OU has 0 NCs. LSU has 1. How are OU's results better than LSUs?

Fire Stoops.

How the hell are you bringing up UAB, a team we lost to in Saban's FIRST season after taking over a 3-8 team?

Man, some of you people have got to be the stupidest idiots I've ever seen.

Considering LSU 04 won 6 of their last 7 including loss to Iowa and LSU 09 won only 4 of their last 7, LSU 04 was clearly better.

LSU 04 also won 6 SEC games and didn't get the extra CUPCAKE that 09 got.

The opposite is true. You have your "window", the other guy has Bill Belichick, another poster has to crap on LSU teams in the past --- all in an attempt to justify a coach that doesn't know how many timeouts he has and has lost 9 games the past two seasons.

Yes you can. in 2004 we were the reigning champs, we lost at Auburn by 1, they went undefeated. We did get blown out at UGA and lost our bowl on a hail mary with a coach that had already announced he was leaving. This year we lost 2 games because our idiot coach has no clue about basic clock management.
