......you know we beat Bama that year, right?
We didn't beat Saban twice in one year, that's Les Miles's crime.
I don't know that any coach has beaten Saban twice in one year.

It’s more than that. We didn’t even make a game of it in the NC game. The team looked completely unprepared to play. Add to it that since then Alabama has become perfectly built to completely shut down what Miles wants to do on offense...and Miles obviously won’t do anything else. Most lost faith that Miles could beat Bama ever again. Unfortunately, they’re the gate keepers if you’re in the SEC west.

Hence why Miles was fired. The problem that you and your ilk are facing is that Miles was replaced with O. Your arguments all come down to "Miles needed to be fired", which no one really disagrees with. Unfortunately, again, you cannot substantively argue that O is an effective replacement for Miles.

OP is an obvious, bad troll.
Miles was not a 9-3 coach in the end. No guarantee he beats Troy. Did NOT play Alabama “tougher”; he played them more predictably.
It was time for Miles to go, Orgeron was a bad hire but he may turn out great, he turned the season around, we saw improvements each week, recruiting addressed needs and was still damned good all around, give him a chance, etc., etc.
How many times must all of this be said??

He quite literally was a 9-3 coach in the end.

I mean, are you embarrassed by your stupidity? I guess not, since you so openly display it.

While true, it was more than that. He had a great run, but over his last 2 and 1/3 seasons, he lost to 6 teams that were 8-5 or worse.
Arkansas had beaten LSU in back-to-back years by 17, and if not for what seemed like a miracle drive by Anthony Jennings in 2013 after Mett got hurt, it would have been three losses in a row to the Hogs. Ole Miss blew out LSU by 21 the last time Miles played them and he lost 2 of the last 3 against them. And then LSU lost to an 8-5 Auburn team and started out 2-2 with one of the more talented LSU teams in recent years in his last four games before he was let go. O didn't deserve to be hired based on his resume, but Miles' time seemed to have run its course.

Under Miles, we would not have lost to Troy or State but would have lost to UF, AU and Alabama. Did anyone here think the hiring of a DL coach to replace Miles was going to be anything different than a lateral move at best?

2014: actually lost four.
2015: struggled to only lose three.
2016: fired before he could lose two more, going 2-2. Not a good look.
Miles’s roof was 9-3, fluttering between that and 8-4. Nothing more. It was time to goooooooooooooo.
Fight me at the sonic, m8.

Literally 2-2 since, you know, he was fired for being awful.

So, he was 9-3 he last full year. As I said, you're stupid.

Actually, his roof was 13-1. I wonder what O's is? I also find it funny that his floor was only one loss more than a season where you're praising O for his performance.
Lowered expectations are such a pathetic thing.

Unfortunately, I think the "cure" that we've chosen is worse than the disease from which we were suffering.

Les was not fired because of his record....he was fired because of his offense. O can probably do as well as Les if he can keep Aranda and decide on an offense, otherwise he will be gone in 5 yrs.
