If we can keep him, Green has that "it" factor and could be real special!

There are very few true freshman players that are talented enough to come in and immediately become a major contributor in any sport, much less two sports, but Green is showing he's that rare player.

Not only did he become a big time player for LSU in football, but he's a legit D1 basketball player and showed that against Alabama. With his size, strength and skill set, he was a problem for Alabama and his steal and powerful dunk in front of a sold out crowd in Coleman Coliseum on national TV is stuff legends are made of!

There is only one question now: Can we keep him?

I love the Louisiana boy as much as anyone. But he scored 2 points. Lets maybe pump the breaks just a tiny bit before we crown him as a superstar on the hardcourt

Raises hand when asked if he would ever contribute on hardwood and I said “no”

Wrong.

*brakes.

And I totally agree with you. It's great he's getting to play, and his play was a spectacular play, but he's not exactly a game changer at this point.

He only scored two points, but his defense is outstanding and considering he was walking the halls of a high school a few months ago is quite impressive. Can you name another LSU true freshman in the last 30 years that has been a major contributor in football and basketball - the two major sports?

You're focused on his two points, but he is a defensive nightmare for opposing offenses and with his build and drive to compete, he's only going to get better. Like I stated in the headline, he "could be special!"

He plays hard, and that's a great start.

Dude is athletically an almost guaranteed short yardage/goal line target. Skill wise!

You are he only one who has asked this question. We lost one player in 4 years that was a gut punch loss that made no sense and that was Eli Ricks. Green leaving would be an even more idiotic mistake if you consider this offense and how much we throw the ball, how many targets he received in the bowl game and how many receivers we have sent to the NFL.

Bingo. OP is a bad troll. Coming in TD too hot with shite takes in all directions.

I agree with you about Ricks, but NIL and the transfer portal are on another level now and it's all about money. What Ricks got is pennies compared to what they are paying now. When you have Ohio State players, coming off winning a NC, jumping into the portal just hours after winning the NC, and several ND players doing the exact same thing is a clear example of the state of college football.

I would love for Green to remain at LSU his entire career, but I'm also realistic about what is happening on every major college campus across the country. I can guarantee you that he - or his representatives - are already getting contacted by other schools and that's just reality.

Why did LSU just lose the No. 1 recruit in the country, who was committed to LSU for a very long time, to Michigan at the last minute? Money. You can call me a troll or whatever makes you feel better, but the reality is there are no rules in college athletics and everybody, including LSU, is out to land the best players they can afford, regardless if they are in the portal or not.

LSU just landed the No. 1 TP class in the country and I promise you they're not coming to LSU for food stamps and WIC vouchers. LSU forked out millions of dollars to get their signatures and will have to re-recruit and pay them more next year, if they want to keep them another year.

You can bury your head in the sand and think that there is no way Green would leave LSU, but as we all know, money talks and BS walks!

Welcome to the real world of College Football in 2025!

That he is a 2 sport athlete benefits us. He probably had a ton of suitors in hs but I bet very few could promise him the opportunity to play 2 sports. He knows he has that at LSU.
