This could be a terrible idea depending on USC's probation. If USC is not eligible for the Coaches poll, LSU would get no credit in the computer polls for playing USC. Why would we do that?

I don't think this matters to some LSU fans. They have such a jealousy for USC its UNREAL.

Dukke I have the pleasure of working with several USC alums/fans. Believe me, the jealousy goes both ways.

The hate really goes back to 1979 for me.

Another LSU win stolen by vindictive referees...

What are you talking about? The illegal procedure?
The missed offensive movement did not necessarily affect the game? SC would have had two downs to get the first. They had moved the ball well that night. They might have gotten it, they might not have.

I am sure Stanford is a tougher foe than Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Ole Miss, or Mississippi State for that matter.

SC has always had the philosophy of playing anyone anywhere. Look at the last 10 years. They have traveled tens of thousands of miles more than LSU for games..

LSU has been west of the rockies once in 10 years.

SC has gone East of the Mississippi almost every year and played the likes of Auburn, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Notre Dame, Ohio State..

Doubt many teams can top that schedule.

Debatable

But, SC had no business getting the score run up on them by Stanford.

You need as many tough OOC games to make up for your conference schedule.

Hate to blow your bubble but USC is 1 mile from the ESPN office in LA. Doubt they need much media exposure. They are mentioned on ESPN almost everyday and have been for almost 6 months.

He is lucky. And you are lucky to walk away with a win against Washington at Washington. Playing in the Pacific Northwest isn't so easy... The weather can really affect the game up there. something the TEAMS in the SEC don't deal with ever.

If the SEC is so tough. How do you explain

UCLA beating Tennessee at Tennessee and at UCLA..

USC beating AUBURN (with Ron Brown and Cadillac Williams) both at Auburn and at USC.

USC BLOWING OUT ARKANSAS 70-17. YES 70-17 and also blowing them out at home in California.

Hard for people to believe that the SEC is so tough when in head to head competition things like that happen.

true. SC's defense was maligned that game and missing some key players on the corners and the defensive line. And STanford is a much better team than people give them credit for being.

I think John Elway went there. Oh and Jim Plunkett oh and John Lynch. I am sure there are others....

So they aren't always the "pushover" that people in the SEC think they are.

Harbaugh also has instilled a toughness to the program. We shall see if it has any momentum now that Gearhardt is not running the rock

well as I have stated before. I doubt the SEC schedule is as tough as you say.

I just don't think the following teams are any good

Kentucky
Vanderbilt
Ole Miss
Miss State

South Carolina and Auburn are very up and down.

Georgia can be up and down also.

Alabama was a door stop until Saban came back. So in my opinion, you have three good teams.

Florida
LSU
Alabama.

And you don't always play them every year..

Florida never leaves the state of Florida OOC???

Please.

If your teams travelled up to Minnesota or Oregon or Ohio State in November when it can sleet, Hail and SNOW and the weather and wind tanks your passing game plus any speed away. You would find yourself losing more games than you do.

But you don't. And your out of conference games are against patsies..

It doesn't hold water to me.

But, across the board, they don't have the athletes SC does.

Not always, but most of the time

It's usually tougher than SC's. Why do you think that SC didn't make it in the NC game in 2003?

We play Florida and Bama annually

There's no need for us to do that. We can get in national title games with the schedules we have as long as we go undefeated or only lose 1. Hell, we can lose 2 games and still make it in the national title game. Do you not understand? Why take on tougher teams when you don't have to?

Like I said, our conference schedule provides us enough competition where we can still make it into the national titles. SC probably wouldn't play the OOC teams if the conference schedule wasn't as soft as it is.

What does or doesn't hold water for you is irrelevant.
