Nope, LSU will pass OU and (Non) Big Game Bob in that scenario for two reasons (at least):

1-LSU has the tougher schedule (on paper right now)
2-OU has really looked terrible in recent big bowl games, while LSU has shined.

I still contend (unlike most people) that as a national champion the AP holds more weight than it did in 2003. Back then, they were a "part" of the BCS champion.

They were not a part of the BCS champion. They were a part the BCS used to determine rankings. Maybe that is what you meant. They were as much of a disctinct and separate NC then as they are today. The BCS NC (which is only the coach's poll NC) was not splintered nor tarnished by AP having a different NC.

If Ohio State goes undefeated, that means they would have beaten USC and I don't see any possible way they're left out.

If Ohio State, Oklahoma and an SEC team were to go undefeated, I would think the SEC school would probably be in, leaving Ohio State/Oklahoma to fend for the other spot.
Not sure who they'd put in with that scenario.

Beating USC would give a huge edge to the Bucks unless of course the Trojans finish the season with say 3 losses.

Don't forget the Sooners don't exactly have much to show for their latest BCS bowl games.

No way Ohio State get's left out if Ohio State and Oklahoma are the only two undefeated schools(as stated in the original post).

OU's OOC is:

Cincinnatti (respectable)
TCU (respectable)
@ Washington (respectable, at least a BCS team)
Chattanooga (FBS)

BIG XII highlights:

Texas
Kansas
Nebraska
KSU
TT
TAM

If they go undefeated, that is certainly a respectable schedule, it's a big IF though.

Wins against UGA, UF, and the SECCG are each as impressive as USC.

Well, it's better than OUs if nothing else. We're running above .500.
Aren't they at .000?

:edited in:
It was four losses in a row I was thinking of
Either way, their bowl record of 2-4 is ours switched around.

S.O.S. would def. put us in. If t0SU or USC goes undefeated that means that each team would have played one tough game all year. If LSU is 12-0, 6 or more of the teams will have been ranked. Any Big-10 or Pac-10 team has an easy route in conf. play.

Then, why did LSU get 3 first place votes? I agree that it shouldn't have anything to do with the rankings, but obviously it does.

That matters a little bit in the preseason rankings, but it will not matter in November.

Flatly, they will have played better competition out of conference than we have.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC = 4 games
Conference games = 8 games (9 including CG)

8 (9) > 4

This is a fallacy. Think of each conference's games as a tournament that produces a champion. Then, the BCS's main responsibility is to identify the two best tournament champions. The only valid means of comparison is to see who those tournament champions have defeated outside of their own tournament. Therefore, no matter how "good" the teams that an SEC Champ defeats in conference, if they haven't defeated any one out of conference, they will be ranked lower in comparison.

Another point: Florida has a much better chance in this comparison than we do. They play Florida State and Miami.

Ya, a 4-2 BCS record is just awful.

EDIT: With a national championship...

Won 2001 Orange Bowl
Won 2003 Rose Bowl
Lost 2004 Sugar Bowl
Lost 2005 Orange Bowl
Lost 2007 Fiesta Bowl
Lost 2008 Fiesta Bowl

It's the exact opposite. SOS will keep us out! Last year, this argument was in our favor, but this year, we will lose almost any SOS comparisons!!!

The point was "recently" not overall.

Ou has a BCS national championship as well. You are both 1-2 in National Championship games.

I would like to play t0SU again this year in the title game. Just so we can start the celebration before the game w/o having to worry.

Agreed any undefeated SEC team is in. I was referring to who the opponent would be. Beating USC on the road would give the Bucks the nod over the sorry Sooners.
