That would be a shocking turnaround. What they did last night was not something most would have expected earlier in the season. The young players are coming around, and the coaches are doing a great job.

+1. I was worried after Auburn that this was going to be 2008. I wasn't sure if the players would get frustrated and quit. Clearly they have not. Regardless of what happens with the rest of the games, this team is going to be tough next year.

Yes, football is a game of inches. I didn mean to dispute that. I mean MLB play dictates everything. If you look all the way through Chavis' career, he's always put an emphasis on LB play.

Everything is important, it all starts in the trenches but a DL will have holes and you need a LB core that can plug those lanes. When you can stop the run with DL and LBs, you can shut down the pass and blitz more with your DBs.

For LSU, probably 2003. After Florida, no one was thinking national title.

Oh I was....... That was the best thing to happen to that team..........
bullshite, man . We weren't thinking national title even going into the SEC championship game.

I think you may have misunderstood me or I said it in a confusing way. I was just saying IMO almost no other coach in CFB could have made the adjustments to bring us to 7-2 after the way we started.

One could also argue that most other coaches in CFB would have made the adjustment LAST YEAR!
And in doing so, there's a good chance this team would be 8-1 right now and still in the hunt for a national championship.

Maybe not exactly the same, but 2001 went from Shreveport to top 10 finish in 6 weeks.

If we can get some improvement in the passing game, 10-2 would not seem so out of reach.
I guess this is the real hinge the final record door will swing on, all things being equal and as long as our OL and DL continue to be dominant factors in our games.

Would that be the biggest change ever from midseason predictions? We had people calling 5-7 or 6-6 with only 1 SEC win at the most. Can you think of a season where the Tigers shocked more people with their end of the season performance?

While it looked bad that was just silly talk. i never expected us to lose more than 5 here ever. too much talent. i predicted 3 or 4 losses at the start of the season and it looks like that is what we will have. While I am no miles pumper i do not ever see him losing more than 5 here in a year.

Yeah. Right.

Don't think that this white flag will go unnoticed. The Negs are now resorting to the "Sure I said that but I didn't mean it" defense, and as a group, they remain my favorite thing about this board.

Would be an amazing turn around, defense and offensive line play have improved tremendously. I was one of the ones saying we would lose out, didn't think the D had this in them

The play of the offense is still a big concern, we simply can not play from behind, hopefully the fury of the night crowd can will this defense to another lights out performance against bama, with those 2 wins under their belts the team should have some confidence to go on the road to close out the season.
