The next person who throws out the name Blake Dean as a PM replacement should be banned from posting about LSU baseball altogether

You'd get a stiffy watching paint dry. Pawl has underachieved in recent years. Good recruiter but thats where it ends. Hes gone completely small ball which is boring as hell. Hes whiffed on the hitting coach situation over and over. Too many questionable in-game adjustments. Will throw players under the bus on occasions. And not that it matters on the field, but comes across as an arrogant prick socially....yea I've talked to him a couple of times at events. You ask the dude a simple, innocuous question and immediately he's on the defensive.

This is exactly when I knew that you didn’t have a clue what you are talking about.

The complete opposite to my interactions with the man. Maybe he just doesn’t like you? I could certainly understand that

Or a more likely scenario, you're both pricks and misery loves company. Now that's believable.

Poor performance at the plate =/= a conscious decision to play small ball.

We don’t bunt.

We also don’t steal bags very much.

We’ve been recruiting big bodied power hitters ever since they changed the balls but this guy would just rather stick to his rant narratives

32-28 in conference ain’t all that dude. If Mainieri’s team struggles with hitting that’s on him. He recruited these guys. He oversees the operation. I am fricking livid that PM talks shite about the team He recruits and they shite the bed in regionals. He has 1 NC in 15 years and Vanderbilt and Florida have passed LSU.

If you like bringing your kids to the box and enjoy the atmosphere with your buddies then have at it. Paul Mainieri isn’t all that dude. He can’t get it done.

Nobody has suggested that is “all that.”

Now tell us why the coach with the objectively worse conference record in a weaker conference should replace PM.

I don’t know who to hire nor am I advocating for any one coach. I am tired of Mainieri and his underachievement. I’m sure if the CWS were held in Hoover, Alabama, Mainieri would have won a few NC.

Arkansas, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Florida have better programs than LSU at the present time. Hell, the way Alabama is rolling, they might win the baseball conference this year.

I don’t want this LSU team hitting .268 in conference play. Mainieri recruits and tinkers with the lineup. We should have a good idea of what this season will bring after about the first 20 games. Mainieri needs to produce.

Well, if "get it right" means win games, then he has gotten it right more than any active college baseball coach....I'll just sit here and wait on the down votes.

Yeah he should plan on retiring soon either way. Would be nice if he could go out on top.

Vanderbilt is literally the only team on that list that even makes a little bit of sense. get off the hate train or just stop watching LSU baseball...you are making yourself sound crazy.

The sad part of your post is that 39 people downvoted...it’s way past time to can his arse. 12 years without a title at LSU is unacceptable with the fan and admin support, and facilities. Constantly underachieves. Paul has gotten old and stale.

I apologize for sounding crazy about coach Paul Mainieri. I am nearing my mid 50’s and I realize that most of the posters here were small kids when Skip was winning NC’s.

Yeah...I know...parity parity and more parity.

If the majority of fans believe Paul can get LSU winning in Omaha again, then I sincerely admire your optimism. I truly do. For me my patience has run thin.

Do we have any reason to think his approach to coaching and managing has changed? I haven't seen it the entire time he has been here. Either he has the studs that win for him, or he doesn't know what to do. He is a one trick pony and a baseball clone of Les Miles.

The answers are all still the same. Losing game 2 of nearly sixty doesn't mean a whole lot. If the losses continue, then it's different conversation.
