We pay him $2.5 now. Its not that big of a bump. The issue is that 1. he wants to be a HC. 2. He went to Tulane.

LSU isn't trying to reset the market for coordinators in the sport either. Saying "pay whatever" can be a slippery slope.

He is a proven commodity at LSU, and less likely to tank as a coordinator IMO. At Tulane he would have to maintain being in the playoff hunt… at Tulane. The move would be a bit more risky.
