Can someone explain how Verge “I cover up sexual assault” Ausberry hasn’t been fired yet?

I get what you’re saying, but also if LSU doesn’t gag away the Ole Miss game and get zero 2nd half stops vs Bama, we’re a playoff team.

That and if that last TD pass against Ole Miss had been caught and if we’d showed up against a terrible A&M team last year. That’s 4 more wins just hanging out there we could have grabbed.

Yea but that’s football. Those teams were good, and we made a few mistakes, they made a few mistakes…we made more.

Alabama got in because their only loss was to another playoff team. But the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. It’s better to play southern miss week 1 and just win.

Give me a few minutes, I'm trying to come up with something for the USC neutral site game with incorporating Las Verges

Oh yeah for sure. I definitely agree. Just was saying to the OP that LSU isn’t in the NY6 this year because of a lot more than just the FSU game.

They could’ve won those games too or did like Bama and win all the other games on their schedule on their way to a SEC championship.

How important was it that LSU played Virginia Tech in 2007, Oregon in 2011 or at Texas in 2019 though. Sometimes they really workout.

Theres not really a benefit to playing top OOC teams when you plan 3 top 10s in your own conference every year. Those extra W's get us in to better bowls every year. L's don't.

I do not see much difference between the NY6 bowls and other Jan 1 bowls. These days, its playoffs or bust it seems.

I am glad LSU plays real teams OOC, at least one per year.

It certainly helped, but this ain’t 2007. Win the SEC and your are one of the four final teams. This year proved that.

Didn’t matter at all. LSU was undefeated and in the title game. Would have been the same if they played Southern week 1.

It's especially galling when you're sitting at home, watching the ticker at the bottom of the screen, and you see Alabama 56 - NESW Idaho 3.......Ohio State 49 - NSW Maine 6. And you know that fans of schools you hate, after an entire offseason, are watching highlights of their team tuning up against nobodies and getting a win. Meanwhile, LSU's season is over before it's begun, and we have to hear about losing week 1 until January. It gets fricking OLD.

Only the VT game could be considered important if you're point was getting us to a title game

The scheduling for next year is very irresponsible. It could easily cause an implosion. Even if playing teams that don't have a pulse doesn't help you play better, the confidence of riding a good record versus starting with an L is pretty undervalued.

EXACTLY. I don't care if it sounds gutless, or if a W helps our case later. Why chance a first game loss when pretty much no one else is doing it?

Alabama is starting with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in 2024. Ohio State with Akron. Michigan with Fresno State. Texas with Colorado State.

The rant says they would rather start the season with a loss than play a cupcake. People apparently don’t understand that you don’t have to beat 10 top 25 teams in a season to win it all. There is ebbs and flows in a season, and LSU has played its worse ball to open the year every season since 2019.

LSU will play 2 pre-season top 5 teams, 1 pre-season top 15 team and another pre-season top 25 team just from SEC play. You wanna play p5? Schedule Baylor, Purdue, K-State, Rutgers. Very manageable teams but give you a decent SoS boost and doesn't take away from your season.

Did you just use "ur?" LSU isn't required to schedule UCLA and FSU to start the season. LSU is 0-4 in opening games the past four years. Even a moron (maybe you qualify?) can see that we need a tune up game to start the season, not straight into good competition.
