re: If Lee is being sat for grades, then....

What about the kids who have kept their grades up all year? You don't reward someone for doing what everyone else has been doing all year. But that isn't why lee is sitting. Or else he wouldnt have stepped on the field during the SECCG.
And I'm a lee fan. But I think JJ should get most of the snaps in this game. He is always effective against bama.

the team is clicking well with JJ.
The team doesn't look any different to me than it did for 8 games. Other than starting slow in the last two. Other than that, looks like the same badass run game and defense.

JL will have to come in and bail us out just like he did against Florida
And the Bama 2010 game...how quickly everyone forgets his big throws in that game as well as Florida.

Jefferson CLEARLY gives LSU the best chance to win vs. Alabama.
All you see isa a one way street for JJ. I have watched the SECC game a lot and really observered JJ. He played as to not make mistakes. That CLEARLY shows me the he is playing not to lose. He really needs to play to win.....it's a good thing for punt returns and running backs that can carry the ball. I could hand off to those players and LSU might win.

Lee continues to make crucial mistakes everytime he faces that particular opponent.
Lee was 9-0 as a starter and made two interceptions in that game. We will never know if Lee played anymore in that game that LSU weould have won. We don't know what would have happened. But to say he continues to make critical mistakes everytime is not true. I believe if you did your homework, Lee gave JJ several wins in comback drives against Bama and won.

There is a want to limit mistakes and #9 brings that opportunity.
Now this I will agree with you. JJ plays to not make mistakes which is not good. As long as JJ just hands the ball off, runs the option, and and makes some good runs himself he will do fine. But if he stays in the pocket his mistakes will come out.

Lee being sat has nothing to do with grades. No way im believing he's the only one on the team who might be struggling.
Simply put, Miles thinks JJ is better. His actions are consistant with that observation.

Yet again someone underestimates the unrivaled stupidity of the chicken little loser LSU fan mentality. If we (god forbid) lose that game they will whine for years about Miles blowing the chance.

I don't buy the grades thing. Someone posted that Lee was going to get the start in the second half but then a fumble and TM7 gave LSU to very short fields and that changed the decision. After that we were winning by 11 and the offense was clicking so he stayed with what was working... JJ!
This SOUNDS like the most plausible explanation that I have heard.

JJ is basically Tebow in Denver right now, the only difference is Tebow is white and the fans love him. If Lee plays against Bama, I will be scared to death. He is more capable of giving the game away, so grades or not, I hope he doesn't

Well thank God because the offense was comletely out of sync the first 8 games
I seem to recall a certain QB with an 8-0 start average over 39 pts/game with one of the highest QB ratings in the conference and only 1 INT...just saying...it's not like LSU was struggling.
I'm just saying our offense was AWESOME when Lee started and JJ jumped in. We had both QB's playing at a high level...now it's the JJ show come hell or high water. And first half of the SECCG looked scarily like the 2010 season all over again...only this time...Lee was not allowed to hop in for a series or two like Bama and Florida 2010 where he made the difference between a win and loss.

I'm not sure I completely agree that nothing is going with Lee.
Miles has used two QBs for two seasons now- and now suddenly it is JJ or bust? Seems a bit odd to me.

JJ gives us the best chance to win...therefore, JJ plays against bama
The most over-used, over-rated, untrue statement that I ever heard on this message board.
Its just one more thing Im glad that will be over and done with after this game.

I hate to cavil, but it could be due to an injury on 1/8.

WE don't know why JLee is sitting, nor will we ever. It continues to amaze me that every day there is a thread about this. Les will play whomever he feels gives us the best opportunity at that time to win. No one says anything about Spencer Ware not getting as many carries. I wonder why that is?

Good God. He made one VERY big throw when JJ got hurt in that game. Just one. We didnt bench the savior of the 2011 tigers. We didnt bench Peyton Manning. We benched Curtis Painter for Vince Young (NFL version). Its not that big of a deal. I will never understand how one topic can go on this long.

All I can say if it's not about grades then Lee must be completely falling apart in practice. Mettenberger must be a highly overrated QB after watching JJ throw the ball recently.

seems like a pretty good thing to me. Hell, the only thing Tebow has done well at Denver is not turn it over and thats working out pretty well for them.
