Whoa, Lee has a very long way to go. Now if he were a senior like Flynn last year with 3 strong years under his belt as a back up then I would say he will be a strong QB for every game this year.

60-65 on offense.

2008: JL starter, AH/JJ 10% snaps as option plays
2009:JL starter, RS 15% snaps as dual-threat
2010: JL starter, RS 25% snaps as dual threat
2011/2012 As JL went pro, RS 100% snaps 2 straight Heisman's/BCS trophies.
QB depth is a ridiculously good "problem" to have.
AH likely is a quality backup/future coach and JJ may be a backup(not that there is anything wrong with that)

Huh? I'm not going to say he won't be a QB for LSU, but there's a very real chance that he switches positions.

Yeah because Gary Crowton wants to see the dream QB for his offense be something other than QB.

I don't see Shepard changing positions. Hes way too dynamic for the option game. JJ is not a running QB like some may think. Hes a pass first, run second guy, despite having the tools to run. Unless he develops his running ability significantly, I think JJ might be the odd man out. The only way I see them changing Shepard's position is if JJ develops worlds ahead of him in both passing/running. And I don't think that is too hard to believe, the coaches are really high on JJ. Remember, this guy probably would've been a "elite" recruit had he not got hurt...

I think Hatch and Jefferson had better practice and be ready. Injuries could present one or both an opportunity before the season is over. Lee has not been hit much but the tough part of the season is just starting. If JJ is ready, who knows he may be just as impressive as Lee once he gets the opportunity.

What if Sheppard decide to go to Florida instead of LSU since we have so many quality QB. Tebow wont be there for long and they will need someone of Shep abilty. Kinda dicey.

See Matt Flynn's career.....if he is patient and humble, that is...otherwise, see Lester Ricard's career

Russel Sheppard will definitely move to wideout. Arm is not that strong and if you look at his highlight reel, 80% are runs. My brother in law played with him in Houston, and he says the consensus there is that he will play WR.

I have to admit, when Lee threw that pick 6 against Auburn I thought NEVER put him back in ANY game!

When I saw how he regrouped and won against Auburn and I saw his natural arm strength I started to change my position.

I agree that Lee 'focuses' on his primary receivers and doesnt' look off or pump fake but if he gets that part down in his game then as a redshirt freshman he is damn near Matt Flynn status with an even better arm than Matt.

This kid has unbelievable potential. His lob pass to Keiland that was almost an interception last week was scary but I think he is learning from seeing these near misses and other faults on film. That being said Lee, I think, is growing in confidence each week.

I think Hatch has pretty damn good mental faculties for the games but lacks the arm strength but Lee isn't far behind in completely emerging as a great quarterback for us.

Just my thoughts.

I don't think Lee played that well to end the year.

How can you people honestly think that Lee is going to start. All Ive heard is that Jefferson is a strong #1 and he looks great this spring. He deserves the spot if only for the job he did in the chick-fil-a.

Honestly, do you REALLY believe that Lee has more tools as a QB than Jefferson?

That same little swing pass, was a pick 6 earlier in the season. I agree that he handles it all in stride and has a short memory...which is good at QB, but he DID NOT improve as the year progressed last season. He got worse. Jefferson improved exponentialy in just a few weeks with far less playing time. He handled himself like a vet and made things happen in the bowl. Both have potential...Jeff is just better.

Y'all need to notice that this thread was made in early October. When LSU was 4-0 and Lee was playing pretty well.
