Of course. Men's basketball is one of the two major sports NATIONALLY.

College baseball is well...

But I don't think these two scenarios are related at all. Baseball (rightfully so), gets the scraps the other minor sports do in regard to revenue sharing. From what I understand, it's primarily funded by donors.

These idiots, huh?

How about some reality for the Wadehaters...

quote:

Dean Smith won his first NCAA men’s basketball national championship in 1982 while coaching the North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball.

Date of championship: March 29, 1982

Opponent: Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball

Score: UNC 63 – Georgetown 62

Game highlight: Freshman Michael Jordan hit the go-ahead jumper with 17 seconds left.

Dean Smith’s Age

Born: February 28, 1931

Championship: March 29, 1982

He had just turned 51 years old about one month earlier.

quote:

John Calipari won his first NCAA men’s basketball national championship in 2012 as head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball.

Age at First Championship

Born: February 10, 1959

Championship game: April 2, 2012 (Kentucky vs. Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball)

Calipari had just turned 53 years old.

quote:

Larry Brown won his first and only NCAA men’s basketball national championship in 1988 as head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball.

Age at the Championship

Born: September 14, 1940

Championship game: April 4, 1988 (Kansas vs. Oklahoma Sooners men's basketball)

Larry Brown was 47 years old at the time.

Getting closer.......

quote:

Mike Krzyzewski (often called “Coach K”) won his first NCAA men’s basketball national championship in 1991 with the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball.

Age at First Championship

Born: February 13, 1947

Championship game: April 1, 1991 (Duke vs. Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball)

Coach K was 44 years old.

And FINALLY, a potential gem in their argument....

quote:

Rick Pitino won his first NCAA men’s basketball national championship in 1996 with the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball.

Age at First Championship

Born: September 18, 1952

Championship game: April 1, 1996 (Kentucky vs. Syracuse Orange men's basketball)

Rick Pitino was 43 years old.

Studs...

Reading the teal leaves here, CJJ looks like he might be ready to call it too much BS here and move on to more reasonable expectations, like at USC or something.
Where do posters like you come from? OK Grandpa, you seriously need to stay on the porch smoking that pipe and stay off the message boards....Idiot take.

Not Will. I'm just not an IDIOT that hates LSU basketball yet regularly posts on LSU basketball topics like you do.

There is NO CANDIDATE AVAILABLE that LSU can reasonably expect to hire that has a better resume' than Wade, plus no coach in LSU history had their first 5 years be anywhere close to what Wade had . Yet you continue to act like he screwed your boyfriend.

Just come out and admit the real reason you hate LSU basketball. We can take it.
