For a visiting fan It is one of those trips where it is sort of cool the first couple of hours and then you keep looking at your watch waiting to go to the stadium.. If I were an Ole Miss fan I would love it.

Oxford is nice town. The square is good food and a decent time on Friday night but its a place more suited for day to day living than visiting for a party weekend. As it should be.

The Grove is a great atmosphere for those allowed to tailgate there but it is more of a closed party where everyone faces in instead of out and doesn't lend itself to bouncing from tailgate to tailgate like at most campuses. Like any place on a football Saturday the people are 95% welcoming, but packing most of the tailgating experience into a small exclusive area kills the vibe everywhere else.

I would definitely go back but with a different game plan. Post up at a bar on the Square all day and make a pass thru The Grove on the way to the stadium.
