I think Lee is our best option against Arkansas and OSU.

I pretty much agree with OBUDan, that we ask so little of our QB's that it mostly doesn't matter, but you still start Lee. One bad game against the best defense shouldn't cause the most efficient passer in the SEC to lose his starting position.
That's really not saying a lot with all the QB injuries and benchings this year, just saying.

Let Lee get his groove thing back against WKU; we'll need it in the upcoming weeks.

quote:I think you have good intentions, but this would be a mistake. Lee needs to start and pick up where he/we left off before the Alabama game. Jefferson also needs to play some significant amount of snaps. Maybe even Mett gets in for more than the wrap-ups. But Lee is the starter and should remain in that role. Alabama was totally ready for what he had to offer and he knew it. That's Nick Saban's specialty. So Coach Miles did his own specialty and got all unpredictable and put the JJ wild card into the game. That apparently was not what Little Nicky expected, and the rest is history.
Hear me out...

Hey 7th;
I think JJ's recognition will come the minute he steps on the field to QB - no matter when he enters the game. He may even get a standing ovation this time!
I totally respect and admire what he has done on the football field since coming back from suspension. I also admire and respect what JLee has done this season.
I think Lee will start and drive us down the field for a touchdown playing his very best football EVER. Then JJ will enter the contest and the game is on.....

Lee just can't handle pressure, period.
explain how he didn't handle the pressure in prior games where he handled the pressure then?
..............
You all have it all wrong!
It's the offensive line that can't handle the pressure against good D-line.
Our O-line pass blocking is overrated big time...

Wow. I didn't think JL was under much pressure on either of the pics. So which offensive linemen was responsible foe those 2 passes?

Either way, pressure does not justify heaving the ball into double and triple coverage like he did. The low snap is overstated, as well. He still CHOSE to throw into triple coverage after the low snap. Or are we saying he didn't look up before he threw the ball? That's not much better.
Lee basically got exposed in that game. I hope it doesn't happen again, but let's not act like he played a good game. He struggled bad and was pulled.

I was concerned all year about JL vs Bamas defense. He will be ok now that the defenses suck again

Most QBs play better against weaker defenses. Shocking, I know.

all I can say is thankgod for Jordan Jefferson, we surely would have lost without him, it was clear as day Lee was flustered against Alabama and his play showed it. We all know he throws off his backfoot, and he gets away with it against lesser teams, but against Bama he wouldn't have. As an sports analyst said on ESPN, I forget who, Lee was really nervous after being hit by Hightower, and had happy feet syndrome after that.
you cannot quarterback a team like that, but I guess he's still shellshocked from his redshirt freshman season. Even though Jefferson didn't have much of a game, he did march the down the field on a couple of drives that stalled, but the important thing is he didn't turn the ball over to Bama, and if not for him coming in we would have surely lost to Bama. Thankyou, Jordan Jefferson!!

I don't care who starts. I would hope whoever starts gets at least a quarter and then the second qb comes in and gets at least a quarter and then Mett. also gets at least a quarter.

I try to stay out of these discussions, but I must quickly ask a few questions to explain my point:
1. Why do you think fans that don't think Jordan Jefferson is the better option because he came into the game and didn't make any mistakes, but also didn't score, are racist?
2. If Jordan Jefferson was the starting quarterback, and had two 100+ passing attempt streaks without interceptions and threw one interception prior to being benched for basically 3 or 4 series, would you feel different about the way he handled the QB situation?
3. Let's say that hypothetically - most white fans supported JL and most black fans supported JJ. How could you say that one side is racist, but not the other given the way Lee has played this year?
4. If JJ played 100% of the snaps, do you think LSU would have still averaged 40 points a game comming into this game?
I agree that we as fans have picked our favorites, and defend them whether the stats support us or not. I don't think it's racism - and I think that alluding to, or outright accusing LSU's fanbase of being racist - even though the facts support the opposite - is a racist statement. It's offensive and it is a generalization / stereotype based on your view of white LSU fans.

He struggled bad and was pulled.
HE PLAYED 12 snaps,
His first 7 snaps he moved the ball into Alabama territory.
He makes a mistake because the center snaps the ball to the ground Lee tries to make a play off of it and get benched for the rest of the game. How does that constitutes struggling bad...
How many times JJ struggled for last 2 season but wasn't benched until LSU needed Lee to win the game?
The Coaches didn't give Lee the chance he deserved. They should have put him in there after LSU blocked the FG try. Coaches gave up on Lee once again. Now Lee has to hear the media about it.
Instead of talking and coaching Lee about how to handle it, they rather just sit him. Totally different approach then when Jefferson struggles.
