Would it be worth it to hit up any local bars to watch the game if tickets aren't available? Based on what everyone's posting, it seems like non-USM fans aren't going to get any type of priority for tickets unless you buy directly from a USM season ticket holder.

EDIT: Nearest city to find hotels where I won’t get mugged by some good ole boys?

shite I may be in the same boat as you. There’s a place called Glory Bound, that’s a restaurant/bar type of place. They’re big on their pita sandwiches and beer. They have pretty good pizza too, but I think it’s gonna be mostly college aged kids.

USM was rated at one time in the top 15 for party schools.. I imagine the bar scene around campus isn’t bad

Hattiesburg is a cool town but it's gonna get packed quick... about 60 HS aged teams coming in for showcase ball.

Y'all have fun! :)

Skip Glory Bound (personal opinion as a resident) and go to The Hog(The Mahogany Bar). Gonna be a more adult/ mature crowd. It’s about a quarter mile from my house and has a LARGE selection of draft and has a wide variety of liquor. Top shelf stuff

It’s in the same building as Crecent City Grill and El Reyo(TexMex). Which is about 35 steps from EDs burger joint.

Yeah hotels already sold out. But easy drive up 55.
Fuzzys tacos is ok. They have a nice running/biking trace behind right field .

Midtowner great for breakfast, met Farve there

And they now boast the largest Cane’s lol

And if midtowner is full, which it will be, go to Mo’Bay beignets. Its a new place that not a lot of people know about just yet. It’s right down the road from Midtowner. Get the butter cream dipping sauce. YOU ARE WELCOME.

Go to the Keg and Barrel. I went to school in Hattiesburg, not Southern Miss, and it was my go to spot.

I’d have to see this where it’s posted. USM is a suitcase school. Was a resent party scene during the week but then a ghost town on the weekend as everybody went back home to New Orleans or the gulf coast. Have you seen pics of their football stadium during a game?

According to the internet, USM played a game at Pete Taylor Park this season against Ole Miss with 6,346 fans in attendance.

Seems like they can pack a good bit more people into that place than the capacity indicates.
