If I told you Hurd would pitch 5 innings and only allow 1 run,

Then everyone would be thrilled with that. Hurd has already done his job. Everything else from here is lagniappe. If he starts to lose control, then its on CJJ now for not yanking him. Also, it sucks because Hurd literally made one bad pitch all game.

2 hits and 1 ER thru 5 is a fantastic outing for Hurd. Only faced 17 batters and 0 BB's. If he keeps this going, he'll be huge for LSU's Omaha chances.

I agree. He starts getting into his groove, post season is gonna be fun

He also worked very well after giving a HR and a single. Stayed calm and made his pitches. Very good sign going forward.

I think CJJ should let him go the distance irrespective of the result

It's been a great outing. I'd pull him and let him keep his confidence going into next Friday.

It's a good outing for any pitcher, including Skenes.

Why would you pull him to bring in an unknown from the bullpen. Ride him until he gives a reason not to.

He's done his job, that's for sure. CJJ will let him go until he gets into trouble.

Hurd has one bad outing in his last 5 or 6 outings. He has been doing very well.
