Gurley will get his yards unless you sell out to stop the run like UNT did last week. They were able to limit him to 90 but opened up the passing lanes and paid the price. Very hard to stop all the weapons we can throw at you, we will get our points no matter what you do. Our problem is, we cannot stop all LSU can do. I prefer to set up strong against the run and make Mett beat us because there is no doubt your running game can demolish is if we play soft. You can always have a QB be off in a big game on the road. My guess is neither works and we will see a lot of points scored by both teams on Saturday.

This, Hill will probably get that much too. It will come down to turnovers and penalties.

Well since North Texas held him to under a 100, I don't see why everyone is on his nuts. He won't beat us, if we lose it'll be because of turnovers and blown coverages.

I don't think he is going to have a run over 30 yards. We will scheme around it. Chavis doesn't like to give up big plays. The more plays they run the more chance they have of making a mistake. When they do make a mistake we just have to capitalize.

edit. Re read your post haha im an idiot

That said, Gurley will have a rush over 30 yards vs us. Will he have multiple?? I dont think so. But, he will get his yards and have a big play or 2.

I actually dont think this game comes down to Gurley or Hill. Its going to be a tight game, regardless of how many yards they get. Whichever QB can drive his team down the field and score a TD in a must score situation will be the team that wins. And whichever D will stop the other teams O from making a game winning drive. This game is going to come down to the final drive, IMO.

Penalties, turnovers, and FG kickers are going to be HUGE.

For starters, our head rivals writer said he was a bit sick later on in the week and wasn't 100%. Also, as mentioned, NT absolutely sold out to not let him beat them. And they did a fairly good job, holding him to 91 yards and a TD (let it sink in that that's a great job against him, almost 100 and only 1 TD), but as a result they let Murray throw for 400 yards and 3 TDs.

Obviously, LSU is far far better than north texas. But the point remains, the only way you are going to really and truly stop Gurley is to sell out your entire defense to do so, and you can't afford to do that with our passing game. You need to hope that you contain him well enough to continue to be balanced on D and make Murray make mistakes.

We allowed 200 yards rushing to Auburn. Gurley is far better than anything Auburn presented. We'll just have to try to contain him. Frankly, our best chance of winning rides on the offense.

I don't think so. I wouldn't see it as a loss if he has 20 carries for 100 yards.

This is honestly what worries me. Our defense is shaky, but it can step up when it needs to. Our offense is lights out. But we (and by we I mainly mean Murray) have had a tendency sometime to REALLY hurt ourselves with untimely turnovers. If we win the turnover battle I think we win the game. We absolutely can't be giving LSU free possessions.
