With a month to prepare for the Penn State game our offense turned in one of it's worst performances of the season. Can anyone point to anything that can give me hope that Crowton can improve offense going into next year?

Have a offensive Line that can run block.

NO!! But doing spring practice they better get the best run blockers on the O-Line. If the lineman can't run block, he can't start on the O-Line. Lack of running game killed us this year. Too many three and outs and inability to gain 1yd on third down to continue drives. In the Georgia game, we couldn't get 1yd on two rushing plays. The offense has to start with the "HOGS" up front. Right now we have "pigglets."

With Miles saying that this was the BEST offensive line he's had at LSU since he's been here makes me question his Observation and judgement of whose the best...Senority prevails evidently with him and by not playing the BETTER athlete, takes away the chances of winning in the SEC. Of course, you may win the games against the smaller opponent, but when you have the Bama, Fla, Ole "Misses" and Arky's playing you yr in and yr out, in Miles case it becomes Senility over senority. I just dont think LSU has that bad of running backs,to where NONE of them can run the ball, so the "offensive" line is where the problem lies, not saying that this is the only problem area. Crowton's play calling is hideous to say the least, but was it really all his Calls?...Miles had a headset on and I'm sure he can and did overule some plays called. I'd like to see someone else take over the Offensive coordinator's job and even if it means to eventually replace the head Coach, well, so be it. Stale bread becomes molded bread, enough to make you sick of your stomach...To be continued in 2010 season...we shall see...

41 yds on 25 attempts. Own up AGLandry (Granpa)!! How are you gonna spin things to blame Hebert for the inside running game debacle on Friday?? I isolated on PJ on inside running plays and he flat out was getting BEAT! Own up & critique inside running game like you do every week!

He had a whole month to prepare for Penn State. He now has 8 months to prepare for UNC so just imagine how inept we'll look for that game. Maybe we'll have negative yards rushing and passing.

The offense definitely sucked, and Crowton shoudl be fired, but in all fairness, the gameplan was sufficient to win against PSU. DBs dropped numerous INTs, and WRs dropped some passes. TT dropped a sure touchdown. JJ was inaccurate in the beginning.

These things are probably due mostly to the wet ball, since PSU had trouble passing and catching too, and arent really the fault of the coaching.

A bigger, more talented OL...a decision by Miles to go back to assignment blocking scheme and away from a zone blocking scheme (which apparently nobody on this staff can implement) and a decision to move a little bit further away from the spread and into a more traditional offensive attack.

...that should tell you that the issue wasn't one of preparation.

That's a HUGE part of the problem. It's just sufficient to win. I want more than just sufficient. I want a killer instinct similar to what I've seen from Meyer and Saban. We had "just sufficient" against Tech, Tulane, Miss. State, and the others as well.

we basically couldn't run the ball all year. we couldn't run in that slop either and the slop made passing even less efficient.

a lot of passes were thrown a little wild in the first half and there were a ton of drops.

not having to learn a whole new offense is definitely a good thing for JJ.

we need to FOCUS on:
- finding one offensive identity (LM)
- stop overruling playcalls on the sideline (LM)
- finding a new OL coach
- getting our best players on the field (RS)

for those of you who think the offensive problems are solely GC's fault, please point to objective evidence from LaTech, BYU, Chicago Bears or Oregon which show a lack of ability to get the play in timely and/or a proclivity to run the option to the short side of the field.

The offense will improve when we find a QB who can read SEC defenses. Freshman and Redshirt Freshman don't usually play in the SEC.

Judging Crowton by what Lee and Jefferson did the past couple of years is just plain stupid.

Dude, if we do qb sneaks on EVERY play with sheppard we could improve from this monumental circus act of an offense.

better OL play and a fullback will create a much better offense. JJ should at least be a little better; then add a decent running game like last year should provide a lot more production. Plus Gonzales should be bringing over some Gator wrinkles.

As long as Crowton is here, our offense will be undisciplined and disorganized unless BG is given command authority along with Frank Wilson.
