I could think of 1000 more reasons not to start him and not one of them would be his previous injury. Geez the man is healed by now and if he's going to get hurt then he's going to later on as well.

The only way I would like to see LN come into the game is if we just can't punch it in near the GL with Burrow during a competitive game or the game is out of hand then bring him into the game. I would like to see what he's got but if Burrow is doing his job then I wouldn't put him in for the hell of it.

I think Burrow will be fine. The guy just makes excellent decisions under pressure. He knows how to manipulate a defense with his arm, eyes and legs. I've seen him do all of this under pressure. He's a big dude that is smart with the football and he can rip it. With the talent he will have at WR, it's going to be fun watching it.

He's the type that isn't afraid to throw it to a 6'6 WR with a 6' corner on him. He can put the ball high and outside so that the WR is the only one who can get the ball. I'm not sure that Etling had that type of arm talent. He can also anticipate better than I've seen an LSU qb do in a good while. We'll see soon.

So you want a QB who basically hasn’t played in 3 years
that is no indication he can't play fine now

Matt Cassel never started a college game at qb. Didn't start in NFL his first 3 seasons and then led NE to a winning record.

Yeah, I mean I am by no means doubting his talent because I think he'll be successful here. Just thought it would be interesting to see different looks but if it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm excited to see him work.

Exactly, but I think most LSU fans would love to see what LN can do. I also believe we will get that chance this year. We will have games that get out of hand early this year, hopefully it's a bunch of them.

really wouldn't keep the defense honest if they sort of knew the package he was coming in for, now if SE would mix it up so the defense would have to keep guessing, that's different

If you are referring to winning an SEC Championship game...YES.

The whole point is, O said if there isn't clear separation then he'll probably go to a 2 QB system and I was thinking of a way that would be useful.
if there isn't clear separation, we're in deep, deep trouble.

Yeah I get what you're saying but if you go back and look at the 2007 season, he's put in specific (mostly short yardage) situations multiple times and he does a great job of reading and making the pitch or holding onto it and it almost always goes for positive yardage. It just seemed to have a positive effect because, yeah you know this guys in here for a reason but try and stop it, and if you do we'll come out and throw it.

I think they will have packages for him. Burrow is athletic but no need to push that narrative until we have a backup that's ready.

Great idea! Let's make the offense more predictable!

I don’t care for a two qb system even if it’s a change of pace. If your starter is playing well no need in messing with his rythem in any way

Absolutely!! He is a freakish good athlete and I believe the heir apparent to Burrow.
