Atltiger is exactly correct. Fans who don't understand coaching say if we get the #1 recruiting class were going to the "ship", or if these players stay we're going to the "ship". -You go to the National Championship because your coach prepares his players for every situation not just running 80% of the game against lesser opponents!!
- you go to the National championship because your offensive coaches look for weaknesses in defenses and try to keep defenses off balance so they don't know what your about to do.
LES Miles does neither of the two things I mentioned. We are NOT going to the NC unless our offense makes MAJOR changes in game planning!!!!!!!!!

Why we won't use him like Clemson uses Watson I have no idea other than having Fournette.

He just had hernia surgery which means he was injured during the season.

Harris isn't as good as Watson.

Harris is good enough though. From that Wisconsin game to the Texas tech game, there has been improvement. He's becoming more confident and seems to have a grasp of the play book. Just needs to work on accuracy.

Contrary to popular belief, every qb improved under Les. I see no reason why Harris can't continue to.

Les Miles has won a title and played for another. Over the last 11 seasons only 2 current coaches in college have bested that. And neither are going to coach at LSU.

He either does what you say he doesn't, or he proved you wrong and won how you say you can't.

Dgnx6- Well your reference is totally idiotic and wrong.LES won his only title with a offensive coach people were calling "The Wizard" in 2007. We ran tons of different formations and attacked all parts of the field that year no defense could handle us that year!

The second title game we got embarrassed. LSU had a freak nasty defense and special teams that scores about 1/3 of our points or set us up in crazy field position. Offense wasn't that good in 2011.

Jordan Jefferson had a 21:8 TD:INT ratio his FR:SO seasons.

He had a 13:12 TD:INT ratio his JR:SR seasons. He had more TD passes 17 in his SO season in 12 games started than he had TD passes 13 in his JR/SR seasons combined in 18 games started.

But sure, let's just make stuff up and see if it sticks.

Well I am a miles supporter, I must say you are correct about that 2007 offense. I saw that game again last night and they were extremely unpredictable and ingenuititive! Hats off to that 2007 coaching staff and players they deserve that title.

There was the word "either" in Dgnx6's post. That should tip you off that there were alternatives to consider. You annihilated one of those alternatives, but you left the other standing. It was: he did what you said he didn't.

In 2007 Miles ran a multiple offense. That's a fact. He also opened his offense up in 2013. The fact is that Miles wants a multiple offense, but he knows he can't run one unless he has the right QB developed. He has done a poor job of recruiting QBs. That's the problem. Hopefully it's solved now that Harris will be in his third year.

It is what he didn't and more importantly couldn't do this past year. I don't care if he had 4000 passing yards...if you can't complete a short pass accurately on third and short then this team cannot have ultimate success.

#1 flaw has been coaching, imo.

The offseason always brings me hope for what could be based on the talent level that LSU always brings to the table. I will be the last to knock Les Miles for the recruiting prowess he has lead through his years at LSU.

However, the lack of molding that talent toward on field success is the dread that overcomes the hope of national signing day.

Why the hell is everyone using this as an opportunity to shite on Harris? Dude accounted for 2300 yards 17 TDs and 6 INTs in only 12 games.[quote]

Do they have any capacity for cognitive recall?

I disagree Penrod I personally believe Miles wants to run his style of offense come he'll or high water.

For LSU to win the SEC next year and make the playoffs:

Improved QB play, and improved coaching on offense, defense and special teams.

More widespread offense with execution, to take pressure off of running game.

Prevent 3rd and long situations as much as possible.

On Defense, bring the heat and fill the gaps against the run.

Take pressure off of the secondary

Improved special teams play with coverage, returning, kicking and punting.

Cut down the mental mistakes and penalties

Hope to have luck With no major .injuries

IMO that is the keys.

We've had the talent most years, but our coaching (mainly offense) has been mediocre at best. If our football team can put it all together for a whole season, watch out! I'm excited to see what we do this year.
