I’d like to see us play Tulane in the Sugar. Doubt it happens but would make for a great atmosphere.

If I understand correctly the highest ranked non-playoff SEC team goes to the Sugar Bowl. Even if LSU were to win tomorrow would we jump that many spots to get back ahead of bama?

If LSU wins they are the SEC Champion and goes to the Sugar automatically as the SEC Champ, if they are not in the CFP, which they won't be from the A&M loss

Bama would get boat raced by any team in the playoff this year, except maybe TCU.

If both Georgia and Alabama get in playoff then it would be highest ranked SEC team to Sugar. Tennessee or LSU.

If Michigan, Ohio State, UGA, Bama make the playoffs with a TCU loss. Tenn will go to Sugar, Penn State to Rose, and LSU loses in SEC that will place LSU in Orange. Orange Bowl has tie ins with ACC vs SEC, BIG 10, ND. There will be no teams ranked higher than LSU at this point.

Who cares, bowl games are meaningless idk why people obsess over what bowl game you go to if you’re not in the playoffs. They all mean the same ……nothing

You are so wrong. I strongly think the way our 2018 team finished with the Fiesta Bowl win propelled them into the 2019 run.

NY6 matters. After that I do agree. The actual bowl means nothing to a program like LSU. IMO the Citrus is on the same footing as the Texas Bowl. Smaller programs like State might care because they get a bigger payout for a Citrus vs a Texas bowl.

Winning the Sugar Bowl will always be a big deal. If it’s not then you don’t understand and appreciate CFB history and tradition.

BS! As a fan of the LSU football team, I want them to win whether it is in the National Championship or the Independence Bowl. It does mean something to me when the team I support all year wins their bowl game. Anyone that doesn't give a shite about their team's bowl game isn't much of a fan and should probably give up football and turn to basketball and volleyball so you don't have to worry about the bowl game. It also matters in the recruiting field as well - especially with a team playing in the, say, Sugar Bowl vs a team not in a bowl game. To broadly say bowl games mean nothing is ridiculous.

Totally with you on that bowl game VS ucf. That's where the legend of joeyB started. Told that to my wife last night. Ater getting "pee-layed" on that pick 6 return joeyB was a totally different QB from that play on through the national championship game VS clemson and sunshine.

As for all those other bowl games being meaningless. Not so fast my friend. Some of those lesser bowls make for great entertainment. We are about to hit a loooooong spell of no college football. Enjoy every game you can if you are a college football fan.

As for as bowl payouts go. The bulk of the money goes into the SEC pot. To be divided equally among all SEC schools. The conference keeps an equal share for itself. The expense monies given to the schools doesn't usually cover all the expenses.
