If Alleva is gone, I will say this....

Dude really had LSU's best interest at heart and gave it his all. If you look at the overall athletic program we are in pretty good shape. His boss killed him plain and simple. Without King he would have fired Miles earlier and sealed the deal with Jimbo. This entire Wade saga, which will do him in, was on F King. But there always has to be a fall guy. Fortunately for us, I think F King days are numbered as well.
This may have been Karma from the whole Duke fvck up. Anyways, I would feel confident that Woodward will be our next AD but with King still at the helm......doubtful.

Sounds like he's weak. And F King didn't make him seek out a national writer for that dumbass statement after the Yale game.

Let’s play a game, what’s the biggest failure by Joe Alleva
Was it when Joe wouldn’t let Les hire Dave Aranda so he hired Kevin Steele and our 2015 defense was garabage?
Was it his failed hiring of Jimbo Fisher?
Was it his failed hire of Johnny Jones?
Was it him failing to hire Tom Herman?
What about the time he expelled 4 innocent young men over a murders fake rape claim with absolutely no proof. I believe the state attorney called if a sham and a judgement that was rushed due to public pressure over white privilege.
What about when he hired Trent Johnson? He passed on Virginia’s coach in this hire by the way.
How about the PR disaster with Hurricane Matthew, he fricked that up royally. But it’s not like we got a slapped together 11am homegame and traded that for a night game vs Florida huh? I wonder what local business owners thought about that.
How about that time that he was so stubborn about a fricking video coordinator that we almost lost CPM to Texas? A fricking video coordinator.
How about the ads around campus? We look broke and trashy.
What about tailgating, has that gotten better in the past decade? Surely the game day experience is top notch, can’t wait to see the tents lined up Nicholson in the fall. I mean it’s not like they would take tailgating away, contract it out to a commercial company and try to make money off of tailgating huh?
Remember when he hired Patrick Murphy? Oh wait...
he got lucky as hell with Beth.
What about the time he took a shining star, our General and threw him under the bus to appease guys like Dick Vitale and Clay Travis?

Alleva is not a leader. The way he handled Miles’ firing then retention, only to fire him the next season, Wade’s suspension based off a yahoo.com article and the Orgeron hiring after Herman was offered by Texas were all knee jerk, reactionary decisions. Competent leadership is sorely needed. Let’s just hope we get it.

I’m sure somebody else was pulling Alleva’s strings on several occasions but what did he, himself really do for LSU? Did he take any LSU sport to another level? No. Everything about LSU sports was already on its course before Alleva already came into the picture...except for basketball, but by all accounts Alleva’s contribution was Trent and Johnson, not Wade. Each and every time LSU came into some sort of crisis, Alleva’s response was a national embarrassment: the way he handled the firing of Miles, the way he handled the hiring of Orgeron, the Florida/hurricane fiasco, hell the way he handled contract negotiations with Chavis, and now Wade. Complete amateur performance every time. I don’t know or care where his heart was. He was completely incompetent.

Media relations may not be top priority in the day-to-day operations of an athletic department, but it can be damn important for an AD, particularly when he has a history of screwing it up.
People don't generally hear from an AD until something truly newsworthy is happening with their program, so if he consistently bungles the PR side of the job when the spotlight is on him, he should be held accountable.

the most important job of an AD is to hire coaches to win games and raise money for athletics. Which kind of go hand and hand. if theses things are happening, people could care less on how he handles the media.

Yeah, no one around here cares how "I am the search" was handled, or that every dime is being squeezed out of the gameday experience, or that Wade got thrown under the bus after a tournament win.

It speaks to a poor job at reading his coaches' wants/needs. Les leveraged the Arky opening and worse Torina had to leverage the Auburn job. They shouldn't have to flirt to get shite done.
