Rick Fremin? Just because he beat LSU? How is he doing this year? How he do vs Texas and Oklahoma this yr? The guy is good where he is, he has never made it past a regional and some want to fire a 4 time WS coach for that..laughable

The former McNeese AD just gave him an extension, Landreneaux is a good guy but he won’t be the HC at LSU. It amazes me some want to fire a 4 time WS for coaches that have never been there. If we are getting rid of a 4 time WS coach it better be for a slam dunk upgrade not a hope and prayer kinda like Wade and Lane were. To upgrade like that with a Mike White, Walton, Alameda it will take 1 mil, everyone cool with paying a softball coach 1 mil?

very lazy take. Fremin has turned down numerous p5 jobs to stay where he's at for now. has some family things going on that make staying put the right decision for him now. he's a very good coach though.

Agreed, that doesn’t mean he would be great in the SEC..it’s whole different world in this league. Softball in the SEC is far and away greater disparity than any other sport. The best coaches in the country are in the SEC, the best players are in the SEC and you can’t win with slapping it around.

So you wouid want to hire a person that hasn’t done much to replace a a 4 time WS coach ? That would have been like replacing Kelly with Sumrall not Lane.

I don't think going from beth to landreneau is a downgrade at this point.
the better question would be, would lsu commit the resources to do better than a landreneau of going after someone such as GG etc.

Torina is an interesting one because she always gets to the postseason but hasnt been to the CWS since 2017 which is a long, long time ago. We just seem to be stuck in the mid-pack of the SEC now

I don't think Rick would be good for this. What they need to do is force Andy Lee to come home and coach big time softball. He has won everywhere he has gone and is a hell of a coach. He has just said he doesn't want to coach at the D1 level.
