I watched the Bama game from 2012 for the first time last week.

BLUF:
1)What a terrible and heart-breaking game. Almost as bad as it is 1/9/12.
2) Les Miles was a moron.
I missed the whole 2012 LSU season because I was on deployment. We have TVs and internet on aircraft carriers, but only with low bandwidth and limited programming. As luck would have it the game was actually televised on the ship but, I was on watch during the game. I was able to get periodic updates from a buddy as the game progressed. I remember my buddy calling down and telling me that LSU was up 3 points in the closing minutes of the game and then shortly calling me back saying that Bama had won the game on a screen pass to Yeldon with less than a minute in the game. WTH.
So, I decided to watch the whole game on YouTube last week. I almost forgot how painful it was to watch that offense under Les Miles. We truly won on talent alone under that clown. And only a jackass like Les Miles would attempt a fake field goal on a 4th & 12. Moron! I digress.
As I watched the game it really felt like we were going to win. Jarvis Landry and OBJ went off in the second half and the defense was playing out of their minds. But then reality set in as Yeldon scored that last minute TD.
Probably the second most depressing LSU game I’ve watched. The most was 1/9/12. Terrible.
I’m praying CBK can finally break the cycle.

Why would you do that to yourself

Try being there in person, that really sucked. Tiger Stadium was absolutely lit and out for blood. Then that happened

I didn’t think it would bother me since it happened 10 years ago. It still hit like a punch in the gut.

After OBJ caught the pass on the sidelines I turned to the random lady next to me and yelled at her, “we just beat the number 1 team in the nation.”
I was mentally drained for 2-3 weeks following that loss.

I was there. The stadium was insane. Especially on Landry’s TD. Huge gut punch in that last minute. I was hoarse for a week afterwards

Right there with you, bruh.

Maybe the most gut wrenching loss Ive ever been a part of

Worst loss I ever witnessed in Tiger Stadium. Left speechless with my intestines dragging behind me.
Had a group of friends in from out of state and was treated to a facility tour on Friday before the game. Talked to all of the coaches except Miles and Chavis (one coach was a hs teammate of mine, along with a admin)
Mettenberger told us in the practice facility that he had to throw his phone away because AL fans got his number and Tebowed him
Mett was perfect on 3rd downs in the 2nd H and with 2 min left in FG range, Miles called 3 straight handoffs and we missed a FG that wouldn't have mattered anyway
Yeah, safe to say that Kelly looked at what we accomplished with Miles and Orgeron and jumped at his chance

Gary Danielson on Landry’s TD “sometimes the offense is just better than you.”
Yeah, I guess same was true for Yeldon.

I’m still livid about JC Copeland getting an unnecessary roughness call after the play when Hill had a run to the 13yd line.

Didn’t he also fumble the ball on the goal line during the opening drive of the 2013 Bama game?

I worked the pregame recruiting stuff for that game and was able to sit right behind the team bench afterwards (one of the nice perks that came with that job). I turned to my coworker in the 3rd quarter and said "we're going to win this game". She snapped back at me with "don't say that yet!" and I just laughed. I felt it in my soul that we were winning that game.
I've been dead inside ever since that last Bama drive.
