The last 4 openers we were pushed around. Will Campbell stated that we were going to run the ball. I don’t want to see that finesse crap. Control the line of scrimmage and beat SC.

First play needs to be an off tackle power play we’re setting the tone early. It’s a hot tube type of day afterward for them.

I feel like if we just run the ball every play they wouldn’t be able to stop us. We are simply bigger

The run will open up play action pass and make it easier controlling the game and time of possession for the win!!

I’ve been ready to see a proper LSU ground game for what feels like years. We’ve been pass happy since 2019 maybe with the exception of TDP being featured on occasion.

Yep. Go ahead and prepare them for Big10 football. That’s how our Oline is built anyways. Show these dudes that telling everyone that “we gained 1,400lbs in the offseason” doesn’t mean shite. It’s about being tough and physical. I don’t think USC has that. Just like Oklahoma didn’t have that under Riley.

Ok but can the defense make tackles? Some other poster thinks the tackling is gonna suck there’s even a thread about it

Tackling always sucks in the 1st game of a season since they’ve gone 6 months w/o going 100% & actually trying to DESTROY the ball carrier.

That works both ways though so hopefully after LSU knocks off the rust they start MAULING that baby-shite soft USC Defense!!

Other than winning, I want to see our D play with a sense of pride.

With two Heisman QBs in there.

Two Heisman trophy caliber QBs will make it that way.

I’ll never complain about this style of wide open offense at LSU after the suffering I had to endure watching that boring arse run, run, run, run, deep ball Les Miles offense for years.

Yet to be seen, but I don’t think it’s possible to be worse than last year. Our offense running the ball and keeping our defense fresh can only help too.
