I understand why some of you want CPM fired, I really do.

I just don't think that this series is a good indicator of what this team is capable of. I also don't think you can blame the series loss on CPM. The hitting has to get better. I've never seen a team this inept at the plate. They watch hanging breaking balls but swing at fastballs 2 inches off the plate. It's maddening to watch.
But even though our hitting was pretty bad, it was good enough to win 2 games when our pitching wasn't that awful. I mean, 18 hits in game 3 and 16? hits in game 1? How is an offense that isn't clicking right now suppose to keep up with that? As much as I would like to blame the hitting and CPM, what about the fricking pitching? What happened to Poche? He is a senior and the dude was throwing MEATBALLS to a VERY GOOD Kentucky team. Sooner or later the Rant will need to understand that players play the game and they can either hit or they can't.
I'm not a CPM homer, even though all of you think I am. I just don't think firing a head coach is always the answer especially when the problems we are having stem from non-clutch hitting and bad pitching. Can we at least see where this season goes before you guys declare war on LSU baseball?
ps. someone needs to teach Romero how to hit a fricking breaking ball. If Romero hits breaking balls, this team would be much deadlier.

How convenient

what did CPM specifically do to make us lose that game? Did he throw meatballs to Kentucky hitting? I'll agree with you if you give me something that HE actually did.

He hired Micah Gibbs. That's just lazy.

It doesn't matter what I tell you, you're a PM apologist, same shite every week from you.

Watch him in the dugout. He just sits there looking like a miserable chump smelling a bean burrito fart. He does not fight for his team, he does not try to fire them up, he lets pitchers bury us before he pulls them.
Kentucky's coach challenges the umpires and makes visits to the plate. Although he is reminiscent of Cohen at Arky with all his little bitch moves, at least he stands up for his team.
Watch Paul in the dugout. That is why this team is uninspired.

This works both ways for the people that want him fired. The reality is somewhere in the middle.

He hired an unqualified hitting coach for starters, if not him who then is accountable for the product on the field? The pitching? There again who is accountable if not the head coach? If he's not responsible for any of this then why are we paying him!! he is the COACH this is his job to make our players become better.

Because going out and finding an elite hitting coach 3 months before the season was an option? Who were they going to get?
I think it was a bad hire as well, simply because LSU should be a better job than a graduate assistant should be able to attain, but I don't see how they could have found anyone better that close to the season. Coaching changes are made after a season ends, not before it starts.
I doubt Mississippi State had intentions of hiring a new baseball coach 3 months before the season started, but the circumstances dictated it. However, it is a bit easier to hire for a head coach versus a position that...I mean, is it even paid by the athletic department? He's a volunteer coach, isn't he?

He's responsible for every single person in that dugout. I'm not a sky is falling type and I'm not pushing for him to be let go. Just answering your question. As the head man, that's how he is responsible.

I mostly agree with everything you said poncho.
our pitching lost this series but it would have been our hitting had our pitching done well. opposing pitchers from UNO to McNeese to every weekend pitcher not from UGA have feasted on our ineptitude at the plate. we seem to have faced great starters AND great relievers with every team we have played.
the most distressing thing to me is our INABILITY TO SCORE RUNS. even when we get guys in scoring position we can't get them home. hell, it's the kiss of death when we get the bases loaded, esp with less than 2 outs. the team cannot hit a sac fly to save their arse.
AND, our pitchers are walking more guys than ever. yesterday we had what, 6 walks and 3 hit batters? pitiful.
what in the hell is our pitching coach doing to frick these kids heads up? they either pitch a ball or a meatball right down main street.
but i'm not ready to fire CPM yet. if I was the AD i'd damn sure want some friggin' answers when this season is over and probably some ACTION taken. like, firing Dunn and firing our hitting coach.

I agree with you here. I don't like the Gibbs hire.

Good suggestion, but who is going to do it?

IDK, Romero couldn't hit breaking balls last year either and he had the GOAT AC
