I think key injuries, but also Yorke was always a head-scratcher for me. Yes, he had a lot of HR at his last stop, but just isn’t a 1B in the class of Tre Morgan

I think CJJ lost a couple guys when he chose to play the younger guys. But those guys don't matter, long-term. Playing those younger guys should pay off next year. Bit the bullet now and hope it pays off later.

There just wasn't enough talent on the roster to compete in the modern day era of SEC baseball.

Win it? No

Compete? There absolutely was enough talent to be better than 9-21.

I don't think so. He didn't throw these guys under the bus. He said it was on him not them.

Upside I think is LSU has a good solid foundation with the freshman. They came in and did well in SEC play. Just need to build from there. Keep Serna/Bide and get a couple studs with bats alongside a stud starter in the portal and some reliable bullpen arms.

He then inserted some younger guys and the offense started to click.

Agree. Crazy to lose so many games when scoring 7/8 runs or more. Reminds me of the football team with Jayden Daniels. Scoring 50pts and losing.

Maybe with no injuries. On top of being a mediocre roster, they lost a lot of starters to injury.
