I think the offense will be a lot better even if no changes are made and Faulk returns. I'm worried about our secondary and ability to get pressure on the QB though.

I imagine the people who predict a 7-5 season are the same people who said this after the Florida game and the same people who blame anything on either the qb or head coach.

How the hell can you possibly be worried about the secondary?

Who else do we blame for an inept offense? The frozen lemonade guy?

you must be the guy who complains when we beat teams by 3 TD's but don't have enough passing yards

The Jalen's are far better corners than Simon was last year

I don't think Simon will be missed at all...cornerback position should be better with the Jalen's having a year of experience.

D-Line wasn't great this year, if Freak is ready to be a force he should offset Logan. Experience at end is certainly an issue. The key will be someone stepping up to be the "QB" of the defense.

Simon will be missed. Trust me on this one. Collins got so much experience, he ended up on the bench a lot in our last games. The staff didn't trust him. He played off, backpedalling most of the time. At least Simon was allowed to bump and run. Our defense is predicated on the corners playing man.

The staff has concerns about Freak being a force. Brockers and Logan were big last year. It was Logan and Logan on the inside this year. I think Rasco and Hunter will need some time to get championship ready, but they're capable.

We'll be better at the safety positions next year, but I just don't see how we will be able to replace the gut of the defense, without suffering some growing pains. Both tackles and MLB. Just too much.

I'm guessing you don't realize how much Collins got picked on this year. We tried to help him out some, but I wouldn't call the results an improvement. Not sure if the experience he got is going to pay off.

I honestly think Mills and White will be starting at the corners early in the year.

Did you watch Simon play this year? Mills will be a better corner in 2013 than Simon in 2012...if he isn't already...

Well, get it out of your system, because tears will follow next season, while we go through some serious growing pains up the middle.

My only concern is who is calling the plays and who is our next elite shutdown CB. I'm kind of concerned about the two Jalens although Simon looked to struggle more then anyone else.

Miles has to let his offensive coaches coach or bring in an OC that has complete control over everything offensively. The pieces are all in place on offense for this to be a break our offensive year.

Simon was our best corner in 2012. The future looks promising with Mills, but this past year Simon was better.

hence the reason why I said he would be better in 2013

Fair enough, that other corner spot is worrisome though,

I have too many threads bookmarked for an end-of-season bump. Thanks for one more, Chicken. Don't ban me after the bump, it's your fault.

Agreed. Hopefully someone steps up in the spring whether it be a freshman or someone like Dwayne Thomas.

Well, the secondary kind of sucked to end the year and the jury is till out on Raymond. I wasn't impressed with Mills and Collins that much. They could certainly grow and get better, but they will never be a PP7, Claiborne or TM7 kind of player. I actually think White or Willis (If we land him) will eventually move into the starting lineup next year. Anyways, if we don't get pressure on the QB then the secondary will look a lot worse than it really is.
