I'll start by saying....without the attitude.

He is slightly shorter than Cousins and obviously not at the same weight now, but they are/were similar weights out of high school to an extent and Naz plays with a type of perimeter big man game with handles and passing ability. Obviously turnovers will happen with Naz next year playing at top a lot, but I don't think WW will play him there with Smart, Waters, and Mays.

Regardless, I see a similar style of play with similar size.

This youtube video is what makes me compare the 2.

You mean he's gonna lead the nation in turnovers?

This. Though I think JOB had a better inside game while Reid has a better perimeter game. I doubt Wade just buries Reid on the block. I suspect he will team with Waters on some big time pick and roll action. You also may see some isolation to let him go one-on-one (though I don't know how much Wade will trust him).

Either way, I suspect he will allow LSU to get out and run in transition. Something they don't do a lot of now.

Better learn to rebound if he’s going to help us next year . We don’t need a another big who plays 20’ from basket . Get down there and bang

He doesn't play defense and doesn't hustle every play. His hands are suspect. I saw a lot to like but his game needs a lot of work. It will be interesting to see what he will do with a coach that will push him. This kid has a ton of potential but he will have to learn to play defense.

Mickey and Martin both fit this description IMHO, kinda played when they felt like it and that to me was the revelation to me of CJJ's lack of accountability. Cause when they did try they could actually execute ball screen defense and rebound, etc. but....they didn't always feel like trying.
They could still usually get their numbers without exerting too much.

Yeah, Mickey blocked shots off the ball, but don't confuse that with good defense. His on ball defense and ball screen defense were usually pretty bad, unless he felt like it.

More excited about Bigby-Williams’s shot blocking and rebounding.

I feel Naz is going to be a great one. We really have a lot of talent to look forward to next year besides him as well. Days is great as well, not to mention Javonte Smart. With the veterans we have coming back next year could be extremely fun.

Cousins gives minimum effort. He is an absolute monster... but has to be the laziest player in the NBA. When they get the rebound and go down court on offense, he walks. They don’t even get into their set til 10-12 seconds left on playclock. He complains about ever call. He won’t cut. He won’t go for lobs. He won’t go after rebounds. It’s pathetic. Imagine if he got his arse in shape and gave maximum effort.

Yea, well, they are both post players, responsibilities are similar: score from the low post, rebound, defend the rim. Naz is more athletic than Cousins and will play from the high post and perimeter more than Cousins. Uncle Willie will probably play him off the high post or perimeter mostly to draw big men from the basket and open up back door cuts and drives to the basket. But Naz does have good ball handling skills and a descent outside shot, so he can score from those positions too. Next season LSU will be loaded with post players, Naz, Darius Days, Kiir and any other returning big man and any possible signees in spring. They need a small forward type who can shoot outside, drive and play a little post if necessary. With his ball skills and outside shooting, Emmitt Williams could fill that roll if he signs with LSU.

This....the cat fills up the stat sheet but has poor fundamentals and as you say, effort is not his forte. Just think if he did bust arse and not try to dribble through traffic and jack 3's all night.

I've never seen any film of Naz, but hope he does have that talent but a better attitude.
