What, specifically, does this mean? What makes a good fit and who are some that we should have hired? As far the program goes.

As far as the fan base goes, who gives a shite? We hate all our coaches unless they just won a NC. And even then, they’re only given a grace period until they lose their 1st game in the next season.

He’ll, Saban lost 3 or 4 games every year he was here except ‘03. And fans weren’t all that enamored with him after losing 17-7 at home to a freshman led mediocre Florida team in a game in which we scored zero offensive points. His tenure wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Even after the NC in ‘03, a lot of folks were ready for him to leave in ‘04 because he kept flirting with the NFL. Once he took the Dolphins gig on Christmas of ‘04, people were glad to see him go and a lot didn’t want him to stay and coach the bowl game against Iowa.

The Saban worship by LSU fans didn’t really start until he starting winning at Bama and we got jealous. Which caused a lot to hate on our current coach at the time who put up 11-2, 11-2, and 12-2 seasons in his 1st 3 years with a national championship, an SEC championship, 2 SEC West Championships, a dominating Sugar Bowl win over Notre Dame and 3 top 5 finishes (I think ‘05 finished top 5, maybe just outside). The point is, what LSU fans think about their current coaches in any sport is no way to base any sort of reasonable decisions on. We’re rabid and we care, but it makes us retarded.
