Of course, but only a really small-minded, dare I say-negatiger-would not agree that today was a huge step in the right direction. You don't go from shite to perfect in 1 week. But today was clearly our best game of the year, and besides the Peach Bowl, probably our best game in a couple of years. Maybe the best regular season game since Auburn or Florida '07.

A lot of problems was poor execution. The game plan was there.
ABSOLUTELY.
But it doesn't matter, too many people want to find reasons to hate on Miles.
It's also the coach's job to make sure the players execute the game plan. That being said, I'm not calling for anyone's head.

. Crowton's play calling looked worse than it really was due to the terrible offensive line play.
Well, for the 2nd straight week, we sat our only real running threat for the entire 2nd half except for the 1 late run.
I don't mind bitching about it when we beat MSU, but I won't be bitching much after winning at Georgia.
It's still baffling the number of times we sit our best 1st half running option.
The 1st half had some good moments. Our 1st 4 drives were solid but we just couldn't finish.

Shepard still averaged over 5 yards a carry
no excuse not to play him more in the 2nd half
Idk, he gets tossed around sometimes like a rag doll. In the first half, a Ga defender just grabbed him by one arm and threw him down, and then RS just got heaved down on the fumble.

It does get frustrating watching the game and being able to see what is going to be called. My wife was reading next to me and i did not realize she was watching the game till she said "you know you just called the last 4 plays in a row, that's kinda freaky". When my wife, who hates football makes a comment like that.. there is something wrong.

agreed, and the choice to shelter JJ and bring him along slowly is paying off, more of a long term coaching decision.
I completely agree.... hardly anyone else seems to understand this. They learned from their mistakes last year with Lee and this year they have really done a good job not fricking with JJ's confidence.

but if somebody goes 4-5 with 1 strikeout did he have a bad game?
So what exactly would you consider Mile's 4 hits?? We fricked up in the red zone the entire first half 3 points almost cost us the game. We were playing for a VERY long FG try at the end of the game and a player bust it open. What did Miles do that was 4 out of 5 worthy exactly? What good decisions would you say were hit worthy?

Oh the criticism of the coaching? That's easy.
Louisiana is full of kids who play FOOTBALL and NOTHING BUT FOOTBALL. Those kids mostly want to play for LSU, because...well duh it's LSU.
99% of these kids aren't good enough to play for LSU, so after they finish high school, they WATCH LSU. Now, the more successful these kids' high school teams were, the louder and drunker they become.
Then the internet comes along and gives them a forum (other than their drunken, passed-out former high school teammate) to vent about how everything is wrong with LSU football, with the subtext being "because I am not playing/because I didn't get my chance/etc."
Then these kids become adults, who meet the other LSU fan adults with similar stories. They feel like they are at the right age to coach, so now everything is wrong with the coaches, and in turn the kids, but only because the coaches are doing a poor job. Again, here comes the subtext, "because I am not the coach".
So: god bless the schools for giving us the future of LSU, and god damn the schools for making us listen to every armchair coach who wore their uniform to school on gamedays.

As much as I like seeing Shep at QB, he looked confused on two plays and caused us to blow two timeouts.

I luv the fact LSU is 5-0. But miles clock management is horrible.Washington,UGA,and one other(Vandy maybe)before halftime is high school at best.He MUST get better.

Wouldnt you move the pocket after say the first 15 QB pressures? Not the Wizard, no roll outs. Very little play action.

Some bad play calls in the Red Zone and VERY poor clock management at the end of the half left something to be desired.
we get the ball to start the second half..

disagree...play calling could have been better...too predictable...have more trust in your qb...let him loose...

He was joking because I think Butch Davis--while good--is maybe the most overrated coach in college football history. Especially on this site.
