I have met quite a few very good engineers from Mississippi St. and Ole Miss in my travels through refining.

I have always pulled for Miss. State when they are not playing LSU. IDK why, I just always did and still do.

I only hate on Bama 24/7. It's a carry over from the 1970's.

I think the originator of the thread answers all the questions by looking at his name.

No hate for State. I almost NEVER pull against them. Only when playing LSU.

I second this.

Miss State fans have class, unlike the fans of the other Miss SEC Rival that I won't mention.

A few years back, we drove to Starkville to attend an LSU / Miss State baseball game. After the game we headed back to Philadelphia where we had a room at the Golden Moon Casino. On the way back we stopped at a convenience store to use the facilities. Walking out of the store I encountered a Miss State fan who saw my LSU attire, and he spoke to me and we discussed the baseball game that we just attended. He asked if we were attending the baseball game on Sunday, and I replied "No, we only had tickets for todays game". He reached in his back pocket and handed me two tickets for Sunday's game and said "Here, take these tickets. I won't be able to go to the game tomorrow so ya'll enjoy them. They're on the 3rd base line, chairback seats and you'll be in the shade most of the game." I thanked him and offered to pay him for the tickets and he wouldn't take my money. So we were able to attend Sunday's game from some great seats for nothing. By the way, I also have a lot of friends here in Hattiesburg that went to Miss State and they are all class acts. Miss State fans are awesome.

Mississippi State. Wow, what a complete and miserable waste of state funding. How many "college educated" dirt farmers does MS need?

If they had about twice as many as they do, and no preppy Ole Piss assholes, they'd be about 10 times better off. I don't want them to win this week, but I usually pull for State when they're not playing us. I certainly do not hate them, and I will never put them in the same category with Ole Miss.

I would wager that I've made as many trips to Starkville as any non-MSU fan, and nothing could be further from the truth. Even when they were expecting to win and lost, they've always been great to all the LSU fans I saw. Like I said, they are not even in the same universe with Ole Miss fans in the a-hole category.

Well, I can see why with a name like MemphisJerk. I have always liked State folks. Much less pretentious and snooty than some of the Ole Miss folks. Of course living in Mississippi, I have lots of friends from who are State, Ole Miss, and USM alums.

Well, that probably goes back to when MSU and LSU were the only schools that gave a damn about college baseball. We State fans have a healthy respect for LSU baseball.

Negative...go to hell Ole Miss!

State has a pretty decent engineering program.

I am an LSU undergrad and State Master's EE grad. I thought both engineering schools were pretty good. The Vet School is pretty damn good at State too.

MSU is the only supplier of quality engineers, veterinarians, and architects in the state.

You're just pissed that Ole Miss kicks your butt pretty much every year. On the other hand even when State is having bad years they still compete game in and game out in the toughest conference in the country. No hate for Miss State here.

It was May 2005, the year after LSU, Arkansas, Georgia and South Carolina were all in the CWS. 4 SEC schools out of the 8 in Omaha that year ('04).
