Then you agree 5700 yards, 35 ppl and an SEc title is expected?

It's not? You're just paranoid.

OK, so it's a meaningless, cherry-picked stat that carries little to no weight about the offensive performance of last season. That's what I thought. Just wondering why you used it to support a statement demonstrating "improvement" when compared to 2011.

The arguement is whether that’s enough, or good enough to win a championship.

Gotcha. Numbers are irrelevant.

Efficiency, like RZTD, YPA, and YPC will need to go up.
A lot of plays just for middle pack numbers in '18, but maybe OL and Skill position sync will be better year 2 of the Ensminger Experiment.
yards per play have to go way up.

Where did you get that?

I think Those numbers get us to about where Notre Dame got.

Maybe into the CFP but not winning anything.

I don’t blame Ensminger, he had to build an offense from scratch in one summer with a bunch of new players and he has that 3,000lb albatross hanging on his neck coach 0 meddling in everything.

Oooh ok. We can use stats that prove our point.

That's relevant. Thanks!

So all we care about is yards per play and points per game. Got it. I'm on the same page now

Why are you choosing to die on this hill? It's . . . odd.

Stats and the conclusions you extrapolate from stats are 2 different things.

If we had the 2011 defense this year I doubt we lose 3 gamesZ

But how often do we have the 2011 defense? we saw how far the 2011 defense could go, and that was playing an Alabama offense that was no where near this level.

I've said it many times. Last season was on O, this ones on Steve and both careers are hinged upon it.

Well it depends, does 0 give him freedom to call his offense or does he continue to shackle him in the red zone and outright take options in the offense away from him like he did by not allowing him to use Burrow in the run game vs Florida. I’m with you on the wait and see part but I don’t think there can be mutual blame when one guy is at the mercy or the other.

Just trying t get people on the same page. We have heard we hav to have a top 50 offense in yards, we've heard we have to have so many points a game, so many yards a rush, that 3,000 yards passing is too low...

So it gets a little confusing what expectations are

I've laid mine out clearly.

Well it ain't gonna matter because without RZ improvement both are on the hot seat, at the least.

The running game was particularly bad, almost the worst in the SEC.

So regardless of dynamics, we should all expect improvement

Don't throw an INt vs Florida then score, and stop A$M on their last drive in regulation and we may have been in the playoff talk

It's not wrong to expect it this year

I've said it since day 1 of EO being hired, you give him 3 years. 2019 is the put up or shut up year. SE better show out for his boy

Wow

Having 400 yards on 60 isnt better than 399 on 40 carries because ot only means you ran more plays. The offense that got 399 yards on 40 carries had far better results once the ball was snapped. The offense with 60 snaps just snapped the ball more.

ypp is considered a pure stat because it doesnt boost offensive rankings of HUNH teams while also penalizing Ball controlled offenses.
I think we can all agree we want our offense to be more successful when the ball is snapped.
