Your are absolutely right....but please remind me....when was the last time the crowd ever received the "Player of game" or was blamed for a loss.
Oh, so home field atmosphere means nothing

I really felt good about this game and thought we would blow them out. I think they were over ranked and our defense would slow them down. But also thought we were going to have a break out game offensively, but that never happened.
When I played in college, my coach always said, if you win 2 phases of the game...offense, defense and special teams you will win the game. LSU has proven they can win with defense and special teams. But they will have several games this year when the offense will have to step up and at this point I don't think that will happen.

I'm at work offshore and got to watch the game on TV. I was utterly embarrassed when I heard the boo's come over the speakers. It was sad. I was just as upset over the play calling and JJ's play as anybody but never, under any circumstances, would I boo at the game. It's shows no class as you, the fans, are what represents the university.

Historically, I have never been one to boo in Tiger stadium.....and there have been lot's of times when it should have happened, but I'm sorry, we have the absolute worst offense in the history of LSU football and I just cannot accept that...We have a head coach who makes close to $4 million a year and the best we can do is 100th in the country.

Booing is definitely wrong. The players don't know who the boos are directed at. The fans can show their displeasure by stopping their contributions to the alumni fund or expressing your displeasure to the ones who govern the TAF. If people would stop giving to the TAF, then maybe a change can be made. I'm not bragging but I contribute to both associations but I will really start to worry if we go back to the era when Joe Dean was the AD. Bob Broadhead was a good AD, but Dale Brown led the charge for his ouster. Joe Dean hired the cheapest coaches that he could find.

You guys who are at one another's throats about the booing are missing an obvious point. When the coach (whicher one) calls the obvious and obviously worthless runnung play in a hopeless situation, booing is clearly aimed at the coaches. When the booing is prompted by Jefferson runnung on the field, it is clearly aimed at him. There's a difference.

Most fans are booing the coaches and not the players.
When you're in uniform and you're sitting on the sidelines and you hear loud booing coming from all directions, you sure as hell don't think, "Ah, they must be booing Coach Miles" or "Methinks they're booing our quarterback." Uh-uh. You think "They're booing US."
Don't believe me? Just ask a player. Hell, ask any player on any team from high school up and they'll tell you.

Thank you....great point.....no one boo's on an incompletion 15 yards down field on 3rd and 10...but guess what should happen on a 2 yard completion on 3rd and 10 and it seems to happen at least 3 times a game.

The players are NOT fricking stupid. They know this offense sucks.

Look, my point is that players takes the boos personally, even if they know the booing isn't directed at them personally. An affront to one team member is an affront to all so to speak. I'm not an expert in sports psychology, but having played enough team sports, at least through high school, I know the concept of having your team member's back is real, and on a tight knit team, players react as a group to hostility against an individual player. I expect more than a few LSU players have told JJ they're with him on this, and the "fans" can frick off. Just my guess.

My 11 year old son threw for more passing yards and had a better QB rating than JJ this weekend (an 11 year old)
Let me get this straight. You figure out the "passer rating" of an 11 year old QB?
Somebody needs to take a chill pill.

When Jefferson scored last weekend the crowd errupted...nobody dislikes him personally....hell, I don't even dislike Crowton..don't know him....but I know OC's who make a hell of lot less than him and have better numbers to show for it.

booing is part of sports
Lets move on to something more meaningful to discuss, like the option to the short of the field and why Crowton calls that play .
