Tari Eason is taking the NBA by storm. Kid was fun to watch last year. Wade did a hell of a job in helping Eason develop his game and improve over the course of just one season after transferring from Cincinnati.
Tari Eason is showing why he's the steal of the NBA draft

I miss the days of Ethan Martin, Willie Sims, Dewayne Scales, Rudy Macklin and Greg Cook, but this is 2023, and the past is the past.

I agree. Eric is having a good year at UAB.

I heart Tari. Great to see him balling out
Gaines and Murray sticking around would have made this year’s team respectable. Oh well.

Loved when he slammed one in on Louisiana Tech near the end when LSU pulled away and all their fans finally shut up. The guy behind me went from yelling “We WeRe pLuS 11 i GoT tHaT mOnEyLiNe” the whole game to “hope we cover the spread” in a matter of seconds.

I grew up in the late 70s-early 80s with that team as well. Just like you, I miss them, and those days also.
The difference is, Father Time took away those guys and era. Our AD took away what we had with Wade by not fighting for Wade like the Auburns, Kansas's, and UNC's did or are doing SUCCESSFULY for their coaches.
The WEAK NCAA couldn't have done a DAMNED THING other than the slap on the wrist Kansas got to us if we had PROPERLY AND AGGRESSIVELY told them how it are, and how it's GOING TO BE.
There are 2 plausible scenarios as to why Scott didn't go to bat for Wade:
He didn't like him and/or wanted his own coach, which I refuse to believe because you talk about CUTTING OFF YOUR NOSE TO SPITE YOUR FACE.
Most likely, he "hooked a brotha up" by allowing in-law Emmert to save face and act like his weak arse was doing something to address the problem in college basketball.
Notice the biggest of boys and offenders in the college game don't have to pay this price. As usual.

Those were the days my friend.
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
But Woody had a plan!!!!

Kinda came out of nowhere, didn't he? In the mold of some of the players we have on this roster, a bench player on a middling D-1 team who could not shoot a lick but improved his stock tremendously and went from a guy shooting sub 30% from 3 to one who shot over 40% from 3 in SEC play when competition stepped up.
I want CMM to succeed. But I also want to see some progression, some development, some improvement - in my view I see regression.
Running out of time this year, I can only hope next year we can see some of that progress.
