Adams responded to a question about CTE.....with Goodell sitting next to him.

The football field would be the perfect place to die.

You expect this from Jamal and other football players. But, this mentality is the reason the NFL deserves criticism. Players need to be protected from themselves but the NFL wants to put their heads in the sand at the expense of the players.

I love the kid's enthusiasm, but something tells me his views will change as he ages, gets a family, starts having health issues, etc.

huh?

the large point is the players cannot be protected

and, the smaller point is, it's not the NFL's job. it's the job of the NFLPA

Exactly. I may be off my rocker, but I feel their well being and future well being should trump my desire to be entertained on Saturdays and Sundays.

The catch 22 here is the only way to eliminate CTE is to quit football....

So you have to make a choice to be the best and embrace the passion or move on....

In Jamal's defense he was an excellent tackler who rarely had to use his head.....

SFP,
If the players can't be protected and this CTE issue is as prevalent as advertised, then the NFL's best days are behind it and will become a minor sport in 30 years. I'd like to think that the players can be protected with equipment and rule changes.

In light of my view of the above, I think the NFL should protect their players or risk losing their business as they currently know it.

It was a great day when Jamal committed to LSU. He was a great player and leader, and he turned out to be better than I hoped at the time. I knew he'd be good his true freshman year when he abused Texas A&M and Kyle Allen.

The amount of money NFL players make compared to NBA/MLB players, without much guaranteed money is bullshite. Football players know the risks, but they should be better compensated. IMO...

If only these NFL players were paid million of dollars to take the risk then this wouldn't be such an issue. Oh wait

Agree with your post above, but think the window is probably closer to 15 years.

In 15 years nothing will have changed.....other than a few more rule changes to protect the defenseless....The NFL will still be king and little kids will still aspire to be Brady or Moss or Julio or Cam etc etc

Too many poor kids in the world who can use football to ascend to millionaire dreams. Black or White or any color.
