JD arguably had a better 1st season at LSU than Burrow did. Did you know we had a playoff QB in Burrow before the bowl game in 2018? I don't think many people did
It was basically burrow’s first year playing, this is Daniels’ 4th. Not comparable at all

so, you expect JD to suddenly, in year 5, learn to read a d, have better instincts and decisions, see his receivers open down the field, and most importantly, be able to accurately throw it to him? If that is what you truly believe, then I understand. I just don't believe that is going to happen at this point. He showed no improvement in any of those areas.

The boogeyman checks for Garrett Nussmeier before going to bed

Well considering we were one win away from being a playoff team with him and the reason we lost was due to injury and the defense, I’d say yes, we can be a playoff team with him.
Are we a national champion is the better question.

You can't reason with these people. They are blind to his limitations and inability to utilize our talented receivers....well maybe not color blind.

Which QB would you want:
A: 17-21 265 2 TD 1 Int or
B: 15-27 297 2 TD 1 Int

LOL, we were two wins away, not one. He had some really poor games this year, more than good games...and the D saved his arse against State, Auburn, and Arky.

Too close to do anything with those stats
Posted on 12/5/22 at 7:11 pm to Larry
considering JD's ypa, this stat isn't possible.

Pushing the ball downfield is not the reason this team didn’t make the playoff this year. But his athletic playmaking ability is why we were in that position before the A&M game.

I think he can be more efficient next year, yes. Y’all are talking about this dude like he just had an Anthony Jennings type year. He was a good player throughout, an outstanding player at times. It’s not impossible to say that he can be the outstanding version more often next year with the whole operation back

Y’all should just shut the frick up and trust Coach Kelly

So it’s too close to call? Can you not answer the question?
Posted on 12/5/22 at 7:15 pm to Htownbayubengal
Learning how to read a defense he can easily improve on. That comes with coaching, and I would hope we have better coaches than ASU. Finding open receivers will come with reading his defenses and learning this offense. You said he didn’t improve all season, but in reality, he did improve.
I will agree with you that his arm is limited, and it’s likely too late in his career to make a significant change to that.
All that being said, dude can absolutely lead us into the playoffs. Anyone who thought this team had a chance at the playoffs were fooling themselves. Too many weak positions all over the field.

You people are unbelievable. You just act like the inability to pass the ball downfield is no big deal. It is everything, and opens up everything else. The denial by you guys is unreal. Nobody, at least me, has ill will against him, and I hope the best for him. He is just not a qb that utilizes our talent, or has that ability. He does utilize HIS talent though.

I know people say they quit reading here, but I literally quit reading here. If he could improve it, he would have done it by year 4. The problem with athletic qb's like JD is that they don't learn how to play they position, they just rely on athletic ability, and that catches up with you eventually. It has with him down the stretch as teams are playing him differently. Like I said, I didn't read the rest because saying he could learn to read a defense easily, is absurd.

He stood in the pocket and threw against Georgia. Read their defense well.
Wish his ankle wasn’t tweaked because the obvious lack of a quality running back was showing.
