Have you missed the Pap thread about the worst bunt ever?

Also, the bench Jordan thread.

They are still out there, they are just having to dig a little deeper right now to find stuff to complain about. Wait till we lose a game.

Our guys are more "cute" than hot. Only a handful of them are above-average handsome.

There are more people starting threads about negatigers being shut up than there ever were threads started by "negatigers."

I just want LSU to win. I know how hard it is to win a national title in baseball. So I don't judge anyone for their opinion.

Nothing better than a negatiger thread from the "everyone deserves a trophy" crowd.

Incredibly pleased with what this team has done over the past dozen SEC conference/SEC Tournament games. When we had to have it, this team gutted out and/or dominated when necessary.

But for me personally as a fan of this program, folks that are posting things like this are like sprinters who take the lead in a 100m heat and pull up and start hot-dogging and preening as if it's the Finals and they broke the tape first.

My personal opinion-and I could really GAS what folks think but I'll go ahead and engage you just to put it on the record-is that we don't put winning streaks, SEC Western Division, conference Co-Championships or 29-6 records in Hoover under Maineiri up on the Intimidator.

We don't convene laps around Alex Box for SEC Tournament Championships. Likewise for National Top 8 Seeds.

Simply put...That is what this program's expectation should be. We should EXPECT this team to play incredibly well when it counts. I understand that with young players stepping in or stepping up, or kids battling an injury or just inexperienced at this level then that's a lot to ask. But that's what LSU Baseball as a program was built upon. At least the program as I view it was built upon those types of expectations.

Sub-Regional Championships and Super-Regional victories and even trips to Omaha don't go up on the Intimidator. National Championships do.

Now I'm not naive enough to think that is going to happen every year. Folks that talk about parity in this sport are exactly right. There's not just merit in that talk or discussion point. It's an observable, tangible fact (not alternative ones either LOL). The road is perhaps tougher now than it was in the past.

But lowering your standards or accepting less than what we stand for in my opinion simply won't work. I still think this program is the best in America by a wide margin and we should demand expectations from it that are similar.

That doesn't mean we can't admire and get excited about steamrolling through the stretch run. Everyone-even Negatigers-can admire beating the hosses on Auburn's starting rotation, or State's Friday Night stud on the road, and to light the SEC Pitcher of the Year up while our Stud throws a CGSHO in post-season play in a heads up battle after we took it on the chin in their place losing 2/3 should make everyone that's a fan of this program beat their chest.

Watching the young pup in CF, or the kid behind the plate figure it out and raise his average what...60 points or some crazy sh!t? Watching this team field it like a team full of Gold Glovers? I may be a demanding a-hole of a fan but it's been a beautiful thing to watch. Having said that...this team and the program it represents-along with their season they're still putting together-won't be judged on any of that. That's the past.

Ultimately, this program will be judged by what we do from here. I give credit to Maineri for putting us in the position we should expect to be in. But that's only half the job he's paid better than anyone in America in this sport to do.

The other half is yet to come, and I am excited to see what we do. We're in prime position.

Meh, show me that you can keep this going in the superregionals and Omaha.

Like, when has LSU totally flamed out in the SEC Tournament under Mainieri?

Exactly. I mean, what's the benchmark for success in Baton Rouge? It's Omaha. Conference championships will satisfy some on here, but think the bigger picture here. What if there's no Omaha or if there's an Omaha trip but no title, are fans going to be okay with this relative to their lofty preseason expectations?

Where does one draw the line for a successful season is a question that many on here either purposely or inadvertently fail to answer.

Anything but Omaha will make for a long offseason.
An early flameout in Omaha will make for a long offseason.

If PM lets them play loose like they have in the SEC tourney, they should be fine.

PM decisions in regionals will be the key on how he manages his bullpen.

We have well more than our fair share of miserable bastards who think they are LSU fans. Whine about everything.

welcome to a small, very small group.

there seems to be a strong desire by some posters on here to only allow positive statements to be posted and that any post that even questions the team or is truthful about shitty play is labeled as blasphemous.

imo, this is an overreaction to the toxic, very toxic atmosphere created in the last couple of years of the miles regime. it divided the fan base and pretty much sucked the enjoyment out of this board. I understand the board not wanting that environment about baseball and agree with it. and there are some pretty outlandish comments made about firing all of the coaches even after one player screws up, etc but many other comments get blasted when they are only reactions to poor play or a screw up, which ALL ballplayers make.

anyway, this team has gelled and it's fun as hell! yahoo!

Being realistic is not being negative! CPM coached LSU teams ALWAYS whope arse in the SEC tourney, but 90% of ya'll don't understand the SEC is not the National championship! The past 6 years LSU doesn't have the pitching depth, and our hitting coaches didn't train our batters to grind out at bats against ACE pitchers.
