No one hates O, but many hate the process that give us O.......This season was ok. Much like most of the seasons since 2012. If that is what you are willing to accept, go for it.

Most of us hated the way the coach search unfolded but it's done. You can't change it. Let it go. And its not about accepting 9-3, it's about giving the coach time to prove whether he deserves the job or not. There were some extenuating circumstances ie attrition, injuries, new offensive system, playing large number of true freshmen, etc that got the season off to a rocky start. The season could have imploded after Troy. The players could have quit. Instead, the team got better and improved as the season progressed. That's what you want from a coach. Coach O is our coach for at least the next two years. Give the man a chance, this is his first year. True, he had some ups and some bad downs, but Urban and Dabo had bad losses. Only UCF went undefeated. 9-3 isn't great but it's good. It's definitely not the end of the world.

well he admitted he had a say in the offense during the troy game. So there's that.

I get what you're saying, but you don't always have to wait until the program is in the dirt before you make a change.

So you will draw the line with O when you want to but no one else is entitled to that same opportunity. Got it.

But it is the end of a coach’s tenure around here apparently. That is the standard that should have been set with the Miles firing.

2012: 10-2
2013: 9-3
2014: 8-4
2015: 8-3 (9-3 with McNeese)
2016: 2-2 (fired)

Looks like September should be a very important month for O in 2018

He DID NOT have a successful year. He had the kind of year Miles was having. Three of Miles' last four years were 3-loss years, INCLUDING the bowl game.

NO! No breaks. He was hired to maintain continuity and win immediately. That is the standard to which he should be held.

This guy is lost.

That would be a fair point if Miles was fired simply based on his record, but we all know that wasn't the case.

We should stay with O until:

- he has a clusterfrick time clock game (or more than one)
- loses to Arkansas multiple times, and Ole Missy at least once
-gets shut out in the biggest game in program history
-fricks up the QB situation
-fails to appear in a NYD bowl game for 5 years running

at least...

I thought miles was fired for better production. If LSU puts up with that then why fire him?

Miles last 20 games he was 12-8
Ogerons first 20 games 15-5

the people who still raise reasonable questions about O.

except your definition of "reasonable" is this:

"OMG WE LOST TO TROY! WE PLAY MIAMI NEXT YEAR! WE GON LOSE! O DUMB! O BAD COACH! ALL IS LOST!! WE WON'T EVEN HAVE A WINNING RECORD NEXT SEASON. WE HAVE A BAD RECRUITING CLASS...ERMAHGURDDDD!!!"

doubts about whether or not Orgeron can sustain success is quite different from assuming we never have a chance to win anything ever if O is coach. He's not even finished year one and he is somehow already the worst coach ever. It's fricking dumb and needs to stop. Let year two play out and then we can really see if the program is headed in the right direction.

There was a LOT more to CLM's firing than going 9-3. Here's a post from a couple days ago. This is a small part of the myriad of reasons he is gone.
quote:

When you cost your players games because you can't figure out a game clock it doesn't need to happen EVERY GAME to be a huge detriment.

Did a quick google search for "les miles clock management":

A few Results - the article titles and snippets that can be seen from the search are listed:

"Les Miles Epic Fail - LSU vs. Ole Miss 11/21/09 (HQ) - YouTube"

Auburn game - "As same mistakes continue, Les Miles might be out of time at LSU - After this latest clock management blunder, Les Miles' clock might have finally run out, too. I know it was chaotic, but LSU wasted way too much time. Should've been sitting in formation, waiting to snap it…"

"Les Miles Blows Another Game with Poor Coaching and Clock - Penn State vs. LSU in the Florida Citrus Bowl, Joe Paterno vs. Les Miles, Class vs. Crazy. In that game, Les Miles shows why it's obvious he flunked Clock Management 101 in coach's school. Can at least one assistant coach please sit down and help Les Miles understand this area of coaching?"

"Coach Les Miles says LSU Tigers clock management gaffe addressed" - Then LSU runs out of time in his last loss at LSU.

The guy just can't look at a clock and figure out what all the numbers mean. Weird that something that most people take for granted can be so difficult for others.

I just love the “Miles got fired for doing exactly what O did this year” narrative when Miles record over his last 20 games is 3 losses worse than Os since he arrived at LSU. Besides the Troy game every knock on O by the O-flakes is totally made up. Even in the Troy and State games our defense was shredded but nobody has said a negative word about Arandas D in those games, they’ve only knocked O. But when Miles would lose games at the end for going into a shell on offense or poor clock management these same people would blame Chief and not Miles. It’s an agenda that started the day he was hired. This pre-season we were picked to win 9 games so the O-flakes started the “if he doesn’t win 10 games he’s a failure” narrative and now that we are on the cusp of winning 10 and theyve been proven wrong again they’ve resorted to devaluing his wins. These people are a joke, we didn’t hire the coaches they wanted, which btw have gone under .500 this year, so they’re crying like children. If you can’t be happy about LSU improving over ignorant personal bs you’re not an LSU fan.

Heck, he has proven (at this point) to be better than anyone would’ve thought going into this season.

Most people thought he'd be shitty. So, yes, he did better than "anyone would've thought going into this season."

That said, we beat a bunch of team with losing records.

So did Alabama. But, as bad and inexcusable as the Troy loss was, we didn't lose to any team with a losing record as did Clemson. O can't control how bad the rest of the SEC is, all he can do is beat them which he did. Again, I'm not an O "groupie", I wanted Herman/Fisher, but some of y'all are determined to be negative about everything.
