When did Starkey coach men's basketball? LSUsports.net shows him as only an assistant coach on the women's team from 1989 to 2006. He apparently did not coach Chris Jackson, Shaq or Stanley Roberts.

"From 1989-2011, Starkey coached at LSU with tenures with both the men’s and women’s programs. He coached LSU greats Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, Seimone Augustus, Sylvia Fowles, Temeka Jonson, Shaquille O’Neal and Stanley Roberts during his original 22-year stint in Baton Rouge."

I’m sure they’d take her seriously

I suspect she’d were more muted colors if she were coaching the men.

It would never happen but I would bet a ton of money she would have a better record than the current coach does

It’s a bad idea. It’s not realistic. I will say she is a better basketball coach than McMahon.

You considered recruiting? A lot of good players would have no interest playing for an old white woman. No disrespect to KM, I love her, but it just wouldn't work.

Yes. Its a terrible idea. And would never happen.

So a man can coach women, but a multi time champion woman's coach cant coach men? Its basketball. Period. Xs and Os

Someone messed up on this. I was around in those days and Starkey never coached men's basketball here. Go to LSUsports.net and do roster for either of the two years Chris Jackson played or the three years that Shaq did. Look at the coaching staff. Dale Brown and three assistants, none of whom were Bob Starkey.
