This guy is a projected first-found draft pick and already has his degree, but he still decided to stay for his senior year.

It's rare. An exception doesn't make it the rule

Unless you're talking about the Florida pitching staff.

So how do you explain early outs from teams coached by Miles, Saban, Harbaugh, Meyers, Fisher, etc.

Dude you are a jackass, get back into your barn.

I tend to agree. Deep down everyone knows LSU is not a title contender anymore. There is nothing to come back for except personal accomplishments.

Unfortunately, LSU has been recruiting players with the line of "Come to LSU, become a starter and we'll prepare you for the NFL".

Look at the situations of the guys that are leaving. Many of the OLman had injury issues, and family issues. Guice is a first round pick and has needs to take care of his family, they deserve it. The secondary guys weren't very mature IMO anyways, so it shouldn't hurt LSU all that much.

I think the younger OL guys are more talented anyways. The offense will need to work hard to be good this year but we have some new coaches who are supposed to be very good teachers on offense so we'll see what happens.

Well good for Clemson. That doesn't change that around the country numbers of players declaring early has sky rocketed since rookie contracts were restructured.

People bitched and moaned about Trai Turner leaving early a few years ago and how stupid they thought it was. He just signed a $45 million contract with 20 guaranteed.

I don't have to like the trend but I understand it.

Why stay and lose in some bs bowl and be third in your division when you can leave and make some real money.

Is pursuit of a trophy all that you think it is?

It’s just a trophy.

Why not pursue a career?

If a kid can make it as a professional athlete, they should go do it as fast and as long as they are able. They are exploited at every level for the talent they process and they owe absolutely nothing to anyone.

It is sad that some don't seem to see it from the kid's point of view at all.
