if he had a good work ethic imagine how good he could have been at LSU
I'm not sure what more he could've done in college, or that he didn't work to improve. I mean if you'd told me at the end of his freshman yr that he'd hit on 68% of his passes for a season before he left (with the ypa mind you), I'd have thought you were crazy.
his 06 season was damn near like sustaining that final qtr vs. Iowa over the course of 13 games.

Mentally talented - No
Give JR the running game Flynn enjoyed in 2007 and we go 14-0 in 2006. EASILY.
With JR in 07, I'd venture to say we would not have lost a game.
both losses were really Flynn's fault. Check the stats. Flynn threw below 50% in the UK game and had a pick.
And fricking Mauck shite his pants against UF in 03 and flat out sucked against OU in the NCG. Good thing White was knicked up going in, or we would not have won.
I can see criticism of his work ethic in the NFL. But this mental game bullshite is just that. bullshite.

he did the same in 2006 instead of playing flynn he played russell we might of had back to back champs
You mean JR lost 2 games in 2006 on the road to top 10 teams but Flynn, who dropped a home game to an unranked team and a little above average Kentucky team would have won those?
Your true colors are showing bro. Just make sure they keep their helmets on right?

His work ethic had shite to do with his career at LSU. You didn't practice with him or even know for that fact how hard he worked at LSU.
Mental game? You mean like how Flynn lost us the fricking Arky game in 2007 and almost gave away the 07 bama game?
You mean how flynn threw more INTs in 07 than JR did in any other year?
jamarcus was infinitely more talented than flynn. but which of the two is still in the league? jamarcus got away with throws at lsu that no one should ever make because he was that much better than the competition he played in college. crazy how that pristine stat line he had in college turned into 18 TDs and 21 INTs in 3 years in the league. wonder why?

1 of which was Bowe's fault. Let it go right through his hands.
Plus, he led us to an impressive comeback since Laron Landry decided to let Crompton and Meachem rape him that day

both losses were the defense's fault. flynn and the offense did more than enough to win those games. did flynn play great? no, but neither did jamarcus in 2006 against Florida. and why the hell does every thread about jamarcus result in someone comparing him to flynn.

Well considering that the UF game we fricking sucked (see hester fumble, kick return fumble, defense sucking against stopping "tebow run left"), I don't see that one really being on JR.
The Auburn game was fricking horrible officiating, as you know. Had a TD in the 1st half where no PI was called and then the infamous Doucet play. Not to mention, hester decided to fumble and the team decided to rush for 1.8 ypc, I'd say that wasn't JR's fault either.
BUT, both losses in 07 were pretty much Flynn's fault. We would've blown out Arky without his fricking turnovers. UK the D sucked, but we still should've won had he just threw for over 50%

i mean our defense let mcfadden and casey fricking dick do whatever they wanted in 2007. arkansas had 385 yards rushing. that's not flynn's fault

Who gives two fricks about the NFL.
Besides, Flynn is having trouble beating out Tarvaris fricking Jackson and Seneca Wallace right now.
Besides, the reason JR sucked was two fold. He played for Oakland with terrible coaching and no talent around him, and he didn't have the work ethic after struggling early.
Has nothing to do with all the greatness he accomplished at LSU.

Russell put in the work his junior year and it was just ridiculous how good he was..but then he got paid and got exceptionally lazy. That was always his problem. Dude loved to eat and didn't like to work on his game.
But my GOD, was he talented. It's just absurd what he was able to do..I don't know that I've ever seen someone with a stronger arm in my life.

THIS. One was a dying quail of a pick 6. He still threw into dbl/trpl coverage alot. He got hot for 5 or 6 games and wowed scouts with arm strength. Had the physical attributes to be almost unstoppable. He's gone, TM is gone. Let's focus on now. Still gonna win the SEC. LET'S DO THIS !

we would have blown arkansas out had they not had 385 yards rushing. you know how many turnovers we had that game? zero.

We would've easily been ahead to force arky to pass instead of run had Flynn not basically fricking sucked. (22 of 47?)

"Anyone who says this guy wasn't the most talented LSU QB ever is full of shite."
JR was amazingly pysically talented, but this statement is far too strong because Bert Jones played for LSU. Jones played at LSU before my time but I did see him in the NFL and his arm talent was insane. While not as big as JR, Jones was plenty big and a better overall athlete. Who was more talented? I don't know but no one is "full of shite" if they choose the guy who won an NFL MVP and whose physical capabilities have been compared favorably to John Elway's.

never said it did, but i don't remember many people outside the lsu fan base being surprised he ended up a gigantic bust. he never had the work ethic, stop kidding yourself. kid had a boatload of talent, prob the most ever at lsu, and had a great college career, but you can;t out talent people in the nfl, and that's why jamarcus failed as an nfl qb.

The only arm recently that i've seen in the college game that remotely compares to his is Stafford.
