it was embarrassing to see incompetent safety play on two deep balls where the corner played the right technique and the safety had no idea what he was doing. GA will try to exploit this multiple times next week.

I've never seen safety play this poor at LSU in many years

Yes I think it was Eugene on both plays. He looked pretty useless!

UGA is going to hit several big pass plays on us. Get ready for it.

I'm ready to see this D get torched. I just hope we can force a couple of well-timed turnovers and score 48 points on O

Might as well accept the fact that it will be a close, high scoring game next weekend.

I think that most Tiger fans see the deficiencies in the defense well enough, but it's nothing to be embarrassed about...the D is a work in progress...and I sure hope they progress a lot this week...'cause Ga. is going to test it big time this week end coming up...sure hope the Offense is on it's 'A" game!

"Cover two?" I was in the stadium and haven't watched the replay but I would bet $100 that both of those plays were against one-high safety sets, and the other safety was in the box to try to defend that belly read Auburn was running all night.

You sound genuinely excited about it. Cool.

I'm not excited about it, but I'm a realist. a team doesn't all of the sudden learn how to tackle, get off blocks, play basic situational coverages in one week---against a much better offense than we faced last week.

GA
OM

all still left on the schedule. Bama may be the easiest game of them all

Who are you actually rooting for? You'd rather be right than "your team" be successful. Awful.

Just watching those 2 plays it seemed like we were in position but the QB just threw a perfect pass. He couldn't throw accurately anywhere else but he did have a pretty deep pass. Sometimes a great pass beats great defense.

That may be true of OP, but Micah Eugene played easily the worst safety coverage of any safety since the pre-Saban era.

It's tough going from Landry,Steltz,Reid,Taylor, etc. to what we saw out of Eugene. He was slow, he was undisciplined and he looked clueless.

We really need Hootie and/or Brown to sign in this class.

The defense was playing with a comfortable lead, bad conditions, backup in... You really think the safety play is going to be that bad against Georgia?

I almost hope our defense does get a real challenge against Georgia but if we are playing with at least a two score lead, it will be difficult to gauge the LSU defense
