Missing the post season 2/5 years is bad. JJ was up and down at zona.

I like him and he seems to have a good class coming in but he has question marks.

How is going to a regional and then the cws twice in 5 years, going to the postseason 2/5 years?

Nevermind you said missing.

So how does that compare to other Arizona coaches

I think this is the issue most people have. It’s becoming a yearly occurrence!

Bro look around the sec and over the past 20 years there aren’t many schools with more success than we’ve had. Yet it’s still not as good as the 90s.

We don’t have the same advantages we did back then. College baseball is a different game now. The kids we recruit were born after Skip retired, and they were young kids when we won in 2009. Our stadium/environment is no better than Ark, MooU, Ole Miss, etc. Our facilities are good but still no better than the above mentioned schools. Our fans didn’t pack the Box this year. We’re never going to be at the level we were at from 91-00 and we have to accept that. We can still have damn good program and have seasons like Tenn and A&M are having now. It’s going to take time to build and it’s not going to happen overnight.

I’d be happy if lsu went to the cws 2 times in 5 years and made the tournament two out of the other 3 . That’s possible at lsu , that’s hard to do at arizona

We only had to beat USM once out of two times and we failed to get it done. We had control of the regional and anytime LSU is 2-0 and can’t close it’s a bad choke for LSU.

Your bar is way too low my man.

2/5 cws is fine but at LSU we should be hosting 4/5 if not 5/5 regionals. LSU should never be missing from the post season.

I agree with most of what you said, especially about it being fixed overnight. I don’t think it gets fixed for a couple of years, unless he finds some good arms in the transfer portal. Next year could be a mirror image of this year if we are relying on the pitchers we currently have on staff. Not many SEC caliber arms on the staff now.

40 fricking wins with ZERO starting pitchers that are remotely SEC weekend Caliber. Hilliard was at best a mid-week guy or middle reliever at best. As compared to Southern Miss staff he doesn’t crack the starting staff.

The portal makes fixing things a lot easier than in the past.

Maybe the deepest pen LSUs ever had in reality. Of course the Rant is in full force lying to itself right now but that’s been going on for a decade in baseball.

I posted in the baseball BPB for a few years and it was rowdy during the earlier years but lots of fun.

I’ve not been able to enjoy the game threads like I used to. I went into this regional hoping LSU would prevail but deep down I knew the Tiger pitching staff was a serious liability. Smoke and mirrors got LSU through the season with a seriously well executed bullpen management process.

Today, the shortcomings of not having a 4th starter reared it’s ugly head. Regrettably this team barely had a second starter.

I found the game thread unbearable and simply chose to watch the game and not hear the complaints regarding the things we all knew going in. I hoped the Tigers could pull it out and they came close. But not quite.

The future is bright. Geaux Tigers.

The OP is spot on.
It’s only fair to give the new chief two years.
