I have never thought this about a Jay Johnson team before but IMO

LSU didnt respect and overlooked their opponent last night. That includes the coaches. You will see a different level of focus and want to tonight. Ill be shocked if the game is even close.

Sometimes the coaches can only do so much. There has to be a player leadership component.

Oh I agree. But I was talking about some of the pitching decisions. I dont think Noot is starting last night if the opponent is different.

I think the players did. Jay saved Cowan and Evans for this reason alone.

Noot was a very reasonable choice to start. And Shores was a reasonable choice to relieve him.

There is no leadership on tis team..no emotional leader.

Agree. Team has always lacked an alpha dog leader. Beat Jones aint it.

I don't think it was this.

If you follow Jay this is how he manages the roster.

There should be a different level of focus tonight because LSU pitching should be better and LR pitching should be a lot worse.

Bingo.. no accountability when you get back to the dugout after a wimpy at-bat and no one pumping up the defense when they get big outs.
