I have never seen so many fans predict a loss with such a close point spread

I am seeing -2 to -1.5 spreads with State favored. Why in the world are so many of you confident that we don't have a chance? The spread even opened with LSU as the favorite but as a 1-3 point underdog at home you have a great chance to win the football game.

Most NFL spreads are that low and you see "upsets" all the time. This isn't State -14 or something

This board could use a dose of tempered expectations

They’ll get more optimistic as the game nears. That just seems like the nature of it

We know the state of our program better than Vegas does.

Good. I mean we have the better athletes and now have game experience as well.

Better coaching too

That's not a bad thing though. I don't have high expectations for this season, but that doesn't mean I don't want LSU to win them all. It just means that alot of fans have tempered expectations for this season. I don't think that's an indictment of those staff, it's just where this team is at. People won't be jumping off of the Mississippi Bridge after the next loss.

Pretty sure we pull this one out, and Kelly starts to build the momentum. Honestly, all the games pre-Bama are winnable.
They can also be lost, but the shine has come off UF and Auburn is very winnable. The Hillbillies are our toughest game pre-Bama in my opinion. They also have the week off before we play them.

Our third down defense + Mike Leach doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence

I love Mike Leach but he is prone to shutting the bed if you just drop people in to coverage.

2021
29 vs Memphis
25 points vs LSU
9 vs Bama
28 vs Arkansas
21 vs OpenMiss
7 vs Texas Texh

2020
14 vs Arkansas
2 vs Kentucky
14 Vs A&M
0 V Bama
10 vs Auburn

Last year was WSU he has 13 against Washington and Utah, and 21 vs Airforce.

The air raid is brilliant but it’s also evolved a lot more than Leach has.

2018 was his best year at WSU and Cal held him to 19 and Washington held him to 15.

How many fans have you seen predicting a loss? I feel like I’ve seen more people saying we are gonna win the west after last weekend.

I’m still in the boat of waiting to see if this weekend is a repeat of FSU game… but I think we best Miss St at home.

When the sun finds its home in the western sky…

We beat them in Starkvegas with O coaching and a worse offense.

I expect a similar approach to zone and sure tackling like last season.

If the defense will run Dime / Nickel zone all night, it will shut them down. Don’t over think the room with Man coverage and blitz all day like Bo P.

I find it hard to believe that anyone has a great read on our team yet.

We won last year with a bd defense and bad offense.
